Absolutely an incredible weekend and the camp. Camp staff was great. Food was awesome and the grounds were top notch. Highly recommend!!
I have been here several times in the last 35 years ! Always had a fun filled family oriented, retreat experience. Highly recommended to anyone who needs some relaxing spiritual getaway!
The people who take care of the campground/retreat center and cook the food are sooooo kind and considerate!
In 2022 we hired a new manager that has brought back the joy and friendship that our community and visitors have come to expect of Samish Island. We hope those that had a negative experience with our most recent 2019-2021 manager will once again be able to enjoy the peace and serenity of Samish Island and all our camp has to offer.
Phenomenal church camp for the Community of Christ. Onsite caregivers. It is generally used as a family camp but is also rented, I believe. Beautiful chapel, nearly everything is handicap accessible. Nice large cabins ranging from rustic to modern, tent sites, and RV hookups. 2 large restrooms/showers separated by gender specific entrances on opposite sides of the buildings. In the modern cabins, a restroom & shower are shared with the cabin behind them. These modern accommodations are ideal for the disabled as they are wheelchair friendly. Great big dining hall that has a large industrial restaurant style kitchen with serving lines on each side of the hall. Restaurant quality dishwasher area. Small older stadium seating area great for campfire skit shows over looking the bay see picture. These beautiful grounds are home to rabbits, deer, osprey, barn swallows, and more.
Alot of the community here has some very hard feelings against the camp during the last 1 1/2 years. For the first time in almost 60 years people were threatened with arrest if thet set foot on camp property. When the community needed the church it failed.
Beautiful beyond belief. Great staff. It doesn't matter what background you're from they are very welcoming. Affordable.
This is a beautiful campground. It isn't for individual camping, but groups and retreats and such. A classic "summer camp". It has a variety of accommodations, from "rustic" dry cabins tiny houses! to handicap accessible more-dormatory-style rooms. A classic"summer camp" lodge for meals and firesides, a more contemporary building for events, indoor sports or such. Great views, Native American heritage, a large labyrinth, woods, field play, a salt-water lake to swim and canoe. Very competent staff, good cooks, a great venue for a group!
Helped in cleaning and preparations for receiving guests. It was fun and hard work, I enjoyed my experience. Can't wait to go back and enjoy it from another point of veiw.
Were just neighbors and want to say this is a beautiful place and thank you to the church members for allowing locals to love it also
