This library has a cozy feel. It's small but its got a little of everything for everyone and the staff couldn't be friendlier or more helpful. Thank you to the wonderful staff for always making my visit enjoyable!
Excellent neighborhood library. Areas for all ages, dedicated children's space connected to the playground. An invaluable community resource.
It's part of San Franciscan and American history as a product of the WPA to provide work to combat the effects of the Depression. The Spanish Colonial style building itself is beautiful and cozy, and the staff friendly and helpful. There is a Teens-Only area, an entire children's section with books and games on the lower level, as well an events room which hosts a variety of a activities including live musical performances.
Great staff and quick processing of my application. I was able to complete thr application and check out a book on the same visit. Beautiful building and awesome children's book section.
Beautiful, clean, and noisy. Great place to do work on a laptop if you bring headphones - kids screaching and adults talking echo through the building. No one reminds people to "sush" but the librarians are helpful and sweet otherwise. Big windows and high ceilings make this smaller library feel spacious. It would be a 5-star reading and working space, hands down, if not for the constant noise.
This library does not feel like a library at all, but in a good way! It is a bit smaller than other libraries but it has this cozy welcoming vibe right when you walk in.The building and architecture here is beautiful. People generally use their "indoor" voice here so it makes for a great place to study or just to sit and catch up with your local newspaper.
I've been coming to this library since moving to San Francisco in2009. It is great for grandparents with both young children and as they grow. One of our grandkids took her 1st steps in the Wednesday baby group. Now our 6 and 9 year olds enjoy the inside and play ground.
The staffs are so friendly and helpful. The library is clean and well-organized.
Great slow streets, shops, library, pet store, dumplings, Good Life! Family friendly. Love Bernal.
I agree with the other comments that it is a small library. I've been going to this library ever since I was a little girl. I came in there today...it's cramped up and I sat at this table segregated for "Teens Only" after 1pm. And some lady, who didn't even bother to tell me who she is and that she worked there, was so nasty and asked me to move and if I even bothered to read the signs. So unprofessional! What am I supposed to do, sit elbow to elbow with someone or sit on their lap!? She embarrassed me in front of all the people there. Atmosphere of this library changed..it was nice and welcoming before to all who comes in without any special privileges. Mean old nasty lady needs an enema.
