What a sweet little neighborhood library! Being a short walk from my daughter's home, it's a great place to take the little grandkids on a rainy day. The children's area is fun for them - the 5 yo currently especially loves the "read to me" audio books and they have a nice selection. Although we've never gone to any of the children's programs, they appear to offer something for various kids ages. There is a separate children's playroom where the librarians sometimes have activities/crafts set-up for the kids which is wonderful as well. The librarians are friendly and helpful. The space is light-filled, airy and a peaceful space to get lost in a book.
Excellent service. Librarians are very knowledgeable and have great library experience along with being very cordial. Clean & near
It's quiet and clean and I love this library : I visit at least once every two weeks and it's consistently great : I love the shelf with all the cook books!!! Had a great time making two flowered pencils during poetry month :
Small but lovely branch of SFPL. They have an amazing Young adult section and always have lots of new arrivals in the "Lucky Day" section. They are able to turnaround holds impressively fast and the staff is always lovely and polite. My go to public library in SF!
This is my chosen library to pick up books I have on hold. It is very close to the BART station. Staff is awesome, bathrooms are clean, and there a lots of placed to get a yummy snack nearby.
Great children's section with smaller tables and dedicated computers. Good selection of board books, and they have some puzzles and activity cubes too. On Saturday mornings, they have toys out in the meeting room - balls, trains and tracks, cars, etc. Wonderful place to spend time with a toddler. Be sure to check hours before you go.
Kris, the art and music librarian is wonderful! She knows how to engage children of all ages with songs, storytelling and art activities. The art activities are well planned and easy to follow, plus everything is set up ready to go when we get there. Great place to spend time with little ones! Keep it going please!
Smallish branch of the SF Library system. Good light and an airy-feeling space. I come here regularly for books. It's not my favorite library for working at, though. Seating for working is primarily at four-person round tables that feel a bit too open for me to concentrate. Also, the children's area is connected to the rest of the library not in a separate room as in some branches so kid noise can carry. None of which matters unless you're studying, though.
This place is great if you have a loud child to entertain, but awful if you want a quiet place to read or study. I tried to come here to study, but after weeks of trying I couldn’t use the space without ear plugs. The kids area is great, but very noisy at times and there is almost no attempt to keep it manageable. Today I asked an employee to deal with a group of teens who came in and were playing music loudly on their phone speakers and being rowdy as is typical, but inappropriate for the setting, and was suggested to move to a quieter place which is impossible in such a small library. I watched as three others around me left having given up in frustration. This is a common occurrence I’ve found. Bottom line is that there seems to be almost no expectation to be quiet and respectful of others who are trying to quietly read or study. So if that’s what you’re expecting then this is probably not a reliable place. It seems like more of a place for parents and nannies to take children and for people to gather and socialize, which is fine, but not what I expected. The lack of respect seems to be from an apathetic attitude toward maintaining the type of environment I’ve depended on at more traditional libraries.
Great all around....Children Very Friendly theatrical performances on occasion please check specific branch for dates and times. Quite clean and friendly informative staff My personal choice for best in San Francisco
