Some crazy screaming person was escorted out of this library for being inappropriate in the bathroom and later came and threw a glass bottle. The staff came to check in and ask if we were ok and let us know we can always report anyone making us uncomfortable to them. The security guard had to sweep the broken glass. Good people working here. Ample natural light, nice fireplace, and even a small courtyard with a garden. Open everyday which I really appreciate.
This library is at least open every day, not like few other libraries they close for at least 1-2 days. This library has variety of books to read and checkout. When I was younger, some librarians we're mean. Librarians change throughout time in this library, they are really nice now. I consider this library as one of the cleanest. It ain't like the Main library in Civic Center where there's too many homeless in the area. It's near Stonestown mall so it's really convenient, also to SF State students and serveral schools nearby.
Really helpful librarians and a good selection of books. There's a wide selection of books in many languages, a printing station, and an outdoor seating area. A librarian helped me change my PIN because I haven't been to a library in years and forgot my PIN.
This is a beautiful branch. It borders 19th avenue And Stonestown and yet is sonically insulated from it. There is ample street parking. The holdings, while small, are substantial for a small branch. The librarians and staff are all helpful. There is a children’s section that provides activities. There is also a beautiful, small atrium that provides a nice outdoor area to sit and relax in. The desks and tables and chairs are comfortable. The only design drawback is the men’s room where the lone urinal is set very low for young children. I have been to all of the branches and this is one of the nicest. Enjoy!
Great place to spend a lazy but bright day. It has a cozy seating by the fireplace for cold days and an outdoor seating for sunny days too! I’m impressed that it is a green building. But the workstations are a bit slow and old - there’s some room for improvement here. And the book collection does not have many of usual technical books - it suits only the residential neighborhood.
Great place! Comfy chairs for working, lots of natural light. The restrooms policy is a bit strange -- you have to go ask for the key at the front desk, but when the room is locked it's unclear whether it's occupied or whether you should go get the key. They probably had some bad experience with the bathrooms in the past, which is a bit sad. Everything else is perfect.
I love the fireplace... on a slow day when no one is there, it's nice to sit down and enjoy a book by the fire. The DVD selection is pretty good for such a small location. Family friendly, lots of children bouncing around with their parents.
Quiet of course, clean and the Clerks are helpful!
I've never had a problem with the staff; patrons have been weird on occasion. The book selection feels catered to stay at home moms. There's three Kinsella books for every Kerouac. It's not the best place to get into classics, but the graphic novel selection is pretty impressive. It's a nice study space, but would benefit from a wider selection. Recommended if you really like your "chick lit".
Finally open extended hours! Not too many people. Teen area is small, but children's area large and extensive. I always liked their enclosed patio.
