The San Mateo County Library Bookmobile extends public library services to under-served communities without convenient access to a public library location.
The San Mateo County Library has been operating a bookmobile since 1953. The Bookmobile primarily serves communities along the coast and other unincorporated areas throughout San Mateo County. The Bookmobile visits area schools and communities with a collection that includes materials for children and adults in English and Spanish. The bookmobile also makes special trips to community events. It houses 4,000 items in its collection of books, DVDs, CDs, audio-books and magazines.
