UPDATE: this location is now closed. Library moving to new location. Wonderful library. Large. Great size aisles for folks with mobility aids. Lots of computers for use. Lots of large print books. Maker section with 3 D printer. Lots of parking. Welcoming staff. Nice old pics of South San Francisco on the walls. Big sections for kids and teens.
This library is closing effective 7.7.23----The replacement library is expected to open in the Fall. The older one was certainly dated, but had an extensive collection. Now I understand why my Property taxes are sky high.
love this library, and this library is closed now. Let's meet in the new library this fall.
BEST SCANNING SERVICE 1/6/2022 At this library I have found the best service for my document scanning need. First of all, it’s FREE. You only pay 15c/page if you print. Staples store charges 55c per scanned page!!! Same price with Office Depot. I’ve been there. The staff was so helpful. The young man patiently guided me through the steps. I practiced with a few documents and became semi-expert in no time. So appreciative to have such kind assistance. The library was quiet and peaceful. A tremendous service available to us in this Covid time when almost everything important is handled digitally. Stay away from those commercial office supplies stores. Save your money and work in peace at this wonderful SoSF Main Library.
One great library! You need to visit this library if you happen to be near the Daly City corridor. It's a complete library with tons of movie videos for the renting and a lot of books plus computers you can use along with printers if you need printing stuff. There's also a kid section somewhere inside this library.
Best Library Ever! The Library Staff is a very friendliness and they helped me to find my favorite book or I can use my computer for the internet time. I love myself to be silence during reading books and computer time in the library. There's no problem or reasons at all. I'm happy to see that! First time I went there.
Awesome library. Excellent librarians and all the extras. From 3D printing to Apple iPad for use at the library, not outside. Groups and classes. Computer classes and Robotics group. Today Friday 7-21-17 " making a Dream Catcher craft group/ class. " 12pm or 2pm. Call if interested 2pm class today. Large building open to 8pm some nights. Many computers. Awesome library. ⏳⌛⌛
I just love the South San Francisco Library Main Branch staff. They are always super customer-service oriented. Happy to help whether it's in person or on the phone - put a book on hold, renew, make a recommendation. Sooooooo refreshing! --- Regarding the limited hours, I believe budget cuts are the culprit. Let the City Manager and City Council know that you want more open hours
I've been a patron of this library since I was in elementary school & I've consistently found the staff to be extremely helpful & friendly, but I have 2 concerns: lack of space and air. Often I find the library to be very stuffy and wam due to lack of circulating air. Also, I often can not find a place to sit due to no available seating and therefore become disgusted and leave! While this particular location will always be especially nostalgic to me, my hope is that the newly constructed library will address theses troublesome problems .
It was good. All the librarians are nice and kind. Computers are now working and a lot of children reading books in West Orange Library at South San Francisco. This place is really huge!
