It had been a very long day when we arrived and Sid was who greeted us! He got us checked in efficiently and with a smile. When we had an issue he went above and beyond to address it. The room is comfortable clean and quiet .Rooms: 5/5
The people here are terrific, always in a really good mood, and so very helpful. They are efficient and make you feel very welcome. Derar and Sid are very professional and upbeat, joyful and run a smooth ship. They are always watching and respond appropriately to any situation. In particular however, is the good nature of the Bellman, Ben. Ben has been so helpful while I’ve been here as an evacuee from an apartment fire, I've seen Ben several times now, because our stay has been for a few weeks. He is always very calm, very positive and in a good mood. Ben offered to help me with my Amazon deliveries so many times now, and it’s very kind of him. The ladies at the front desk have been so kind as to offer printing out rental applications. and sometimes they even inquire about how my little dogs are doing, in this stressful time.
It’s my family’s first trip to BC. We booked two rooms for a week. We called in advance three times to confirm the beds, and that we’d be side by side. We even called the morning of. It was confirmed that A the one room we asked for with two beds is reserved for us and B the other room with one bed and two cribs would be reserved for us, with C our rooms side by side. We arrive at 2am, which is 5am our time. Our flight is delayed, we experience many issues with our flight and rental car, and are hoping to just check in our rooms and get some rest. We arrive, and find out they gave our rooms away, with the excuse of “because of construction we moved your rooms”. Fine - but we called same day, there’s no possible way they didn’t know that construction would be happening. With the slight chance it was, they could’ve either gave us a call and let us know, or ensured they kept to our reservation and what they confirmed with us. Our rooms are given to someone else, we aren’t side by side, not even on the same floor. We are now in rooms with one bed and pull out couches. We find that the gym is closed during the week of our stay as well, with no heads up given to us, the gym still advertised. The man helping us was patient. But the management at this hotel and their ability to empathize and keep to their word with what they tell you and their bookings are absurd. They also said they have zero rooms left in the hotel. We weren’t provided any other options with what to do, after confirming many times, even less than 24 hours before. We’re extremely disappointed in this hotel and their attitude towards their guests and serving us. Our check in experience was dreadful. We are looking for another hotel for our stay here.
The hotel is in the process of being refurbished but it didn't affect our stay. We had a basic but comfortable and clean room. The pool and hot tub were great, the pool is deeper than most we have used at other hotels. The filter coffee supplied was lovely and reception was happy to supply more when we ran out. The location is very central and we were able to walk to Stanley park on our first day from the hotel. We didn't hear any noise from other guests. The air con kept the room comfortable but was not as cool as some hotels as the lowest temperature was 20 degrees. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The beds were comfortable. A fridge would have been welcome.
As refugees from Ukraine, my friend and I were provided accommodation here, and we are immensely grateful for the rooms we were given. It's unfortunate that our stay was limited to just one week, as we find ourselves racing against time to complete certain tasks. Nonetheless, we are sincerely thankful for the opportunity. The hotel boasted a truly remarkable view that captivated our hearts from the moment we arrived. Each day, we were greeted by a picturesque scene that seemed to transcend reality. The sight of the surrounding landscape left us in awe, reminding us of the beauty that exists even amidst challenging times. The staff at the hotel were accommodating and showed genuine care and compassion towards us. They made our stay comfortable and ensured that we had everything we needed. We felt a sense of belonging and warmth that made the hotel feel like a temporary home away from home. While our stay was brief, we made the most of it by cherishing every moment and indulging in the beauty that surrounded us. We understand that circumstances limit the duration of our stay, but we are sincerely appreciative of the time we had. Thank you to everyone involved in providing us with this opportunity and for making our stay a memorable one. We will forever carry with us the breathtaking views and the kindness shown to us during our time here.
Pros: - Good location for what we needed - Got a good price on Hotwire. - Pool & Hot Tub was greatly appreciated and we used it every day we were here. They were pretty empty so we got to enjoy mainly by ourselves. We walked a lot around Vancouver so being able to soak our tired feet and muscles in the hot tub was really great. - Rooms were generally not bad. Cons: - The main con for me were the pillows. They were super high and neither me nor my Hubby could sleep on them. We asked for another kind of pillow and they said they only had the one type and "many people love them...." well, we didn't. We ended up using our towels and folding them up to use as pillows instead. - Shower/Tub was dirty and stained. - TV was small and Remote didn't work so we didn't use the TV at all
The hotel is undergoing renovations, but our room has definitely not been started yet. Check in was very easy, but our room was very dated and the old air conditioning unit was very loud. Corners of the bathroom were worn dirty, but we checked in very late, so just wanted to sleep. If I was to ever stay at this location again, it would have to be when renovations are completed.
Rooms were run down a quit a bit !!! Washroom door was cracked. Tub/shower would not drain properly ! Has to be two inches of water in the tub while showering. We asked to have our room completely cleaned and serviced yesterday. They did not vacuum or wipe anything down. They did not clean the toilet, or the sink or washroom counters. Bed were not stripped and remade. Actually they didn’t seem to do anything other then pick up the used towels in the tub and leave some new ones. Horrible room cleaning !!! I have never seen that poor of room cleaning at any hotel I’ve stayed at it the past 30 years !!! Very disappointing !!! The one huge BONUS was the fantastic service we received by your guest service agent at the check in/out desk. Claudia Salinas was overly helpful and professional !! The only truly positive with our stay in the DT Vancouver was Claudia !! Nearby activities: Close to many activities and attractions of the city Walkability: Easy to get to many down town and surrounding spots
Checking in was a quick process with Jeriz. She was helpful and even upgraded our room and extended our checkout time as she knew we were here to attend a concert. The room was nice although the bed was definitely well used and so you noticeably sink into the bed.Rooms: 4/5
Cute, clean rooms! Nice views. Great customer service, Sid at the front desk was very friendly and pleasant. He upgraded our room which was complimentary. Very pleased.Rooms: 3/5
