*This review has nothing to do with Dr. Moskos herself - She has always been great and attentive.* I had my yearly exam today. When I checked in, I was told of my costs for the exam and explained that I would be purchasing contacts before I left, and I asked if I could pay for it all together. I was told no, which was whatever... just annoying to have to complete 2 separate transactions at the same place. When I went in to see the doctor I was asked, "what are you here for?". Shouldn't they know that? Many things continued to happen during the appointment that had me ready to walk out... the worst having to reach out to my husband to get numbers off of my contacts box because they didn't know specific details about them... as a long time patient, I was upset that they didn't know that information. I refused dilation today as I was driving and am sensitive to it. That was a whole thing. I went to schedule a dilation and asked to see Dr. Moskos for that. I was, again, told no by the receptionist. I don't understand why I am unable to see a doctor of my choice. The receptionist was very standoff-ish. Ordering contacts was a very weird experience too. So basically I paid for an exam which only half happened and I am refusing to reschedule with a doctor who has no idea about any of my information. I'm extremely disappointed with the care I received today all around. This truly is a bummer because Dr. Moskos is fantastic.
I was having trouble reading and a friend recommended Savard & Moskos. I had Lasik corrective surgery for distance about 20 years ago and was finding it difficult to read up close. The staff was accommodating, as I was a few minutes late due to taking a wrong turn. Dr. Moskos was thorough and explained everything in detail. From check- in to check-out the communication and professionalism impressed me. She offered an alternate option that I was unaware of and was able to get both distance and reading glasses. The optical shop helped in selecting 2 different style frames that I felt comfortable with. Both of my children have been to see Dr. Moskos and received the same pleasant experience. Savard & Moskos is highly recommended!
Since Dr. Moskos has taken over the office customer relations are in the toilet. I showed up for my son's appointment which was scheduled a year prior only to find the office closed for vacation. As you can imagine I was absolutely livid. I left a message on their answering machine regarding this and received no return call. When it was time for my own eye exam I addressed the matter with the office manager only to be told that they had sent me a letter and left a message on my answering machine. Which I did not get. No apology. Only an offer for free samples. When I addressed it with Dr. Moskos she basically said her office staff sucked and offered more free samples. I told her that I felt that she did not value us a patients because she and her staff failed to notify us of canceling his appointment and failed to make sure her patients had rescheduled. A week later I received a registered letter telling me that myself and my family were no longer welcome at her practice. So obviously we are not valued patients.
At some point over the past year, Dr. Moskos decided that she no longer would be servicing patients with rigid gas permeable lenses. Instead of proactively reaching out to me or any other clients with RGP lenses, I was told when i showed up for my annual appointment that they could not accommodate me. I wasted 45 minutes of my time traveling back and forth to an appointment simply to be told sorry, they could not help me. When i asked why they no longer provided service for clients with RGP, i was basically told that she did not really know how to fit patients. If so, why did she see me for the past years? This all seems extremely unprofessional, and i would expect better from an eye care professional. .
I am so happy I switched to this eye center. The staff are welcoming, patient and knowledgeable. The building is also very clean! Dr. Moskos was so kind and helpful when I had my exam. Many options are offered for both glasses and sunglasses. They communicated very well with me when mine came in and were ready for pick up. Thanks for new glasses! I absolutely love them.
This review is in reference to the Optical shop only. Very poor refund policy or lack of from the Optical Shop when after 3 attempts they could not get the corrective lenses right. After several weeks of trying and failing on the 3rd set of lenses, I was frustrated and disappointed and I requested a refund and was flat out told "NO". No flexibility at all. Not even a refund on the standard frames that I picked off the rack myself. There was nothing customized about the frames. I can see the lenses being customized, obviously. But the frames? However, if the Optical shop has not succeeded in producing a set of lenses that the customer can see out of, I don't see why a full refund could not be offered. The customer suffers and loses money and they appeared to be o.k. with that. Sad. Poor policies and poor customer service. When getting a pair of glasses, I don't recommend the Southeast Optical Shop. Plus, they have a very limited selection of frames that you have to pick out yourself, no help from anyone. Go somewhere else to get your frames and lenses!
My most recent experience was a huge disappointment. And this is referring only to the shop. I had called earlier in the day, confirming time the store closes, which was assured to me 5pm. My 5 year old needs a new script, and honestly I have bought her glasses there for the last 4 years, always having a pleasant experience. Today was not that. I took off work early to get there with over a half an hour to spare before closing time. Knowing I would most likely only be in There for about 10 or 15mins. I was turned aways because they do not accept shoppers past 4 apparently which was not informed to me. I would think that since this was thier mistake, they would take into consideration. That the they also wouldn't be spending much overtime since the options for children are limited. Dont get me wrong, I understand new policies and thier importance, but I still believe customer service is also important, especially with the lack of stores, and ability to keep customers. If you don't want people in the shop past 4 to buy something then close at 4, not 5. I have worked in retail and cleanup is part of the job, no matter what the circumstance. I'm sorry you didn't want to stay after to clean possibly 3 pairs of glasses I might touch, but now that's your loss of a sure sale.
I made an appointment with this office as a new patient in the end of March. My appointment was for May 21st. I got a call today, May 18th, that my appointment was canceled because they double booked the schedule. An error on their part. She then told me that the next available was mid July. I've been suffering from vision issues and really needed this appointment. I took off work as well as my husband so he could come with me. This is completely unacceptable. I will be going somewhere else.
