Dr. Robert Coles is amazing! We followed him to Scripps from UCSD. Even though the office is an extra 20 minute drive, it is the extra effort like calling late into his evening to check up on our daughter who has been very sick for the last couple days. Dr. Coles actually cares about his little patients and it shows. I cannot thank you enough.
The whole process of getting blood work was fantastic! When the technician inserted a needle I didnt even feel a pinch! However I gave 2 stars because of their incorrect business hour for the lab. Please update your business hour for the lab. I just got there 7:15am after checking Scripps business hour opening @7:45am on their website for this Salk Ave location. To my surprise there were 3 people already waiting, so I asked the technician while she was drawing my blood, she said the lab opens at 7am but it has not been updated on their website.
I was assigned a new doctor named Zachary Sprague when my doctor retired. Two visits so far have had multiple issues. Both times he left room to research medications to prescribe and didn’t return. The MA returned to finish the visit. All other doctors finish visit by saying goodbye. Also had prescription issues not being submitted properly. Also had billing issue with improper cpt code used for visit. Also had no reply to some portal messages. His nurse practitioner Wyatt was complete opposite, excellent in all areas on visit I had with him. Dr. Sprague is new doctor so hope he advances with experience and learns on the job.
My daughter had 2 appointments scheduled. I canceled one appointment, days prior. Later that day, I received a confirmation for the appointment that I canceled. I called them back and told them that I canceled the appointment. The woman on the phone, Normy, immediately became defensive and had the worst phone etiquette I’ve ever experienced and said that the appointment was not canceled. Her tone was defensive and she began to argue with me about their mistake. On top of that, she told me that the appointment I was planning to keep was canceled due to the provider being unavailable. I told her no one told me that and that I had spoken to someone yesterday about my appointment and he never mentioned that the 2nd appointment was canceled ! I would have showed to a non existent appointment. No one ever said my appointment was canceled. I can’t believe this unprofessionalism! I think they canceled the wrong appointment and tried to blame me for their mistake.
Will not allow more then 1 visitor at a time, max 2 visitors per day. Large families can take a week to rotate turns for a visit. Per the nurse, its the rules No exceptions!! If they are very ill, you may not be able to visit before they pass away. Find a different hospital if you can
Today I saw Dr M Siksay for the first time. Now I have had several good doctors over the years but today I can truly say I have meant the best. Dr Siksay is an amazing woman and doctor. She speaks 4 languages how many doctors can say that. At the start she was kind caring professional and made me feel important and not just another patient but like family. She was patient listened well took time to review my chart since this was the first time she saw me. That really made me feel special and not like a number. She answered all my questions never trying to rush me. Wow what a special person she is and SCRIPPS is very lucky to have her!!! A great doctor is complimented by great support help like Belinda at the front desk who was a big help today. Then Allie the nurse assistant and Erica both were polite kind respectful and caring again treating me like family. Thank you to all!
Dr Zane has been my primary for over 15 years and I cannot say enough good things about him. Very professional, thorough, empathetic and ALWAYS there for you when you need him. Dr Zane has also encouraged me to become healthier and always leads me in the right direction. Good Doctors are hard to find but this Scripps has one of the BEST in North County. In addition his staff is always respectful and professional. Thank you Dr Zane and Scripps staff for all that you do!
Lab Review This place is a piece of work!! Last week they attempted to draw blood from my 3 yr old. The staff tried 7 times to find the vein in her arm pulling and poking and pulling and poking all the while my daughter is screaming her head off. She said she had to "keep doing it because it was her last needle". So we called the Lab Management, useless as hell- you can tell they are clearly only worried about possible issues they will be liable for... My daughter is traumatized by the events, hopefully it is not permanent. Lab Staff- you know how to reach us, if you actually want to display actual concern. Update: Thank you for your response. We have contacted them as well. Funny thing is nobody is reaching out to us... that is why I'm reviewing on google, so people know what to expect when they visit your location.
Friendly staff and quick, professional service. I called this office yesterday as a first time client and could not have been more satisfied with my experience. The lady in the front office I spoke with Betty? Patty? I forget her name, but she was a delight. took all of my info over the phone which made the check in process quick and easy when I arrived. Dr. Hausig was attentive and personable. Even with an x-ray, my entire visit was less than an hour. I would absolutely recommend this office to friends and family.
The insurance scams they pull are ridiculous! I work in the dental field and have seem some horrible dental billing but this place really tops it. First of all, the women that you speak to in the billing department are rude and act as if you’re bothering their day. The doctor I saw was nice and I felt comfortable with her. She asked me what I was here for, I told her so they did all this testing on me which was fine. I got my results back and I’m normal. Then I get a $900 bill from them. I call insurance and insurance says they billed me incorrectly. They’re using codes as if I was an emergency patient that day and they used codes twice so my insurance won’t cover that. WHAT!? I’ve read several reviews about this happening to others. I finally spoke to a helpful women who agreed this was billed wrong, they said they’d review it, finally came back and lowered the bill to less than half. 2 months later I’m getting another bill for the remaining $650! I call billing again and the rudest women is on the phone telling me no I have to pay and I can make small payment since I can’t afford it. I said I can afford it but it’s the principle. You are wrongfully billing people. It’s corporate medical offices like this that just farm patients in and out the door. They could careless about the patient.
