Sears

Updated on 1/25/2020: This Sears is closing its doors after decades in business here at the Chula Vista mall. My mom used to come here to shop before she married my dad. I'm 50 years old. Do the math. Sad to see it go. Older review: Store has good clothing and shoe selection at good prices. The thing that makes my visits a not so memorable experience is check out. It is so slow.

Very disappointed. Only one person working in tool section, so lines very long at register. After waiting in line, and seeing many customers being told replacement tools out of stock, I was informed my $15 bonus points did show on their screen, even tho I had received an email saying I had $15 bonus points for use on purchase of $15 my purchase was $15.13.Left emptyhanded.

Terrible service from top to bottom. Won't honor tool warranty and dare lie to your face about not having parts for repairs. Asked for manager and the repair parts magically appeared after claiming that they were out of stock for weeks. Called corporate to complain and was promised a call back from the store manager anywhere from 24-72 hours. Never received a call. Avoid purchasing craftsman tools and go with a brand that will truly honor their warranty.

In the Amazon era, I intentionally shop at brick and mortar stores to support local business and workers. This store has a friendly staff and great selection of items. On Black Friday, it was extremely busy but lines moved efficiently. Would gladly come back again.

I just want to say Don did a great job getting my attention at the Mattress department. He was not pushy and presented me deals, had contact with me every other week for about 2 months until I decided to go back for the 3rd time then I met Monica which she is the manager at that branch and you don’t get customer satisfaction nowadays but definitely recommend both of them! Sears your lucky to have both hard workers there they stayed till 11pm to finish the transaction.

Worst customer service ever! Manager Mario need training on how to help his customers. We bought a online order to pickup at store and never picked it up even though store states we did. Trying to get our money back for the past month and no help last time we spoke to Denise the ASST. Manager which by the way 5 stars to her trying to help us and always communicating back very nice women trying to help but not much she can do when Mario asked her to let us know they were not refunding our money back and there was nothing they could do since they can not go back on there cameras to that date to verify who picked up our item or what happened that day. Never will buy from Chula Vista store again!

This is the closest Sears that I know of. I truly enjoyed walking around and finding great deals. It's sad that so many closed down because I always counted on Sears to find what I was looking for at a great deal. It felt great to shop there and it was very clean and organized. Wish it was closer to me but I would definitely make the trip to shop there again.

A dying department store that still has a lot to offer. Many products are still up to date and reasonably priced but the people that shop here don't usually know what they are looking at. As in everything NEW blends in with the really old stuff. People also don't know what they are looking for when they go here.

If I could rate them any lower I would!!!! It's 7pm on a Thursday evening and I've waited to checkout for 20min. The sole clerk called twice for help and got none. No wonder this retailer is closing. Too bad the good people working here will suffer due to rancid management.......
