Community Outreach and Happy Shopping!
Shop for a cause and donate your old clothing, books, electronics and more at the Second Source Thrift Store. Our proceeds help fund Appalachian Outreach and have helped to fund the construction of the new Samaritan House Family Ministry Center in Jefferson City! Come see our ever-expanding departments and expect to pay crazy low prices. We look forward to seeing you, shoppers. Second Source works like most other vintage stores: we sell new and gently used products to all customers who are interested. All of our proceeds go to charity and the maintenance of the store. We accept donations directly to the store as well as through Appalachian Outreach Ministries. Right now, we are only able to accept cash payments in order to keep costs down. We hope this does not cause any major inconvenience. We also have a "hold" policy if you find something you really want to buy but can't quite afford it yet. See the manager for details. We do not give discounts and we do not take advance orders for products, however, we will conduct quick inventory searches via phone or facebook if there is something you are looking for. We have very limited floor space so if you don't see what you need, don't be afraid to ask. There are several large furniture pieces, unique fashions and vintage collectibles that have to be kept off the floor because they do not sell as quickly. Typical examples include records, bulky coats or dining sets.
We feature several albums on our page. Pics of the Week, are literally items that have been picked from the donations for processing. They are featured on Mondays, which is when volunteers and staff receive product, price items and sort by season and department. These products are usually not immediately available for sale but are intended to show you all the types of products that come in and the work that volunteers do. Shopping Preview will be updated on Wednesdays to kick off the open to the public shopping days and will feature pricing, sizes and actual product that will be available for purchase when you come visit us on Thursday. But remember, products are replenished throughout the day and while we try to keep photos updated as to when they have already sold, it is not full proof. The photos are intended to give you a sampling, not a catalog.
The point of our page here is to announce upcoming sales/specials, promote community activities and events, and chronicle all the exciting people and products that come to our store. We will also feature manager's picks, customer favorites and frequently asked questions.
