The Sequoyah Council, Boy Scouts of America serves 16 counties in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia, helping to mold and shape the lives of more than 1 million young people since its founding in 1931.
The Sequoyah Council's mission is to support the goals and values of our parent organization, the Boy Scouts of America, while serving the youth and adults in our 16-county service area in northeast Tennessee and southwest Virginia.
Founded as one of the country's first Boy Scouts of America programs, the Sequoyah Council has helped mold and shape the lives of more than 1 million young people since its founding in 1931. The Council is comprised of 5 districts: Breaks, Buffalo Mountain, Nolachuckey, Overmountain and Wilderness.
The Sequoyah Council is known for being an innovative leader for providing opportunities, resources, facilities and programs that attract and keep young people involved in Scouting.
Every successful Scouting program has a centerpiece. For the Sequoyah Council, that centerpiece is Camp Davy Crockett, located in the picturesque mountains of east Tennessee, between Rogersville and Bulls Gap.
For nearly 50 years, this camp has provided the ideal backdrop for almost any outdoor Scouting experience as we have continued to introduce new programs and facilities to best serve the needs of our Scouts and leaders.
