I only give this place a one star and I never do that because I really enjoy nature very much but I give this place a one star because everything was so overgrown that you could not even see any blue markers I started to take a loop path headed towards Bear Hill and once you start walking it is so overgrown I ended up with ticks all over me because the trail was not properly marked either I ended up going around in a circle two times and almost got lost even though I was following the all trails app. Whoever maintains this is not taking care of it please work proper bug spray and make sure you have more than one map open when you do this if you're not familiar with the area.
We did the blue/yellow-blue loop and loved it! You walk through a diverse forest with lots to look at. It gets a bit tricky when walking near the electrical lines because you have to scramble up some rocks, but that’s the only difficult part. We did it with our dog and it took about an hour and 20 minutes. We’ll definitely do this again! The picnic area is not very inviting, but there are some nice places go get into the water.
Use to be a state Park, now just more of a stop off for a quick picnic or to hop on the blue blazed trail.
About a 1.45 hr walk for the trail. Moderate, very rocky and steep in some areas of the woods. Very easy to misstep. Easy to get lost if you don’t understand hiking markers as the blue trail isn’t well marked. Trees down and markers scattered. Beautiful....however the lack of respect humanity has for nature is appalling. Trash scattered around the entrance and near the water PLEASE CLEAN UP, MAKE THE A CLEANER PLACE FOR HUMANKIND AND NATURE
This is a really pretty hiking area for all seasons. I love the way the trail does a consistent roll of incline and decline, never too steep, so you feel energized the whole way through. Going through the waterfall areas are beautiful, and I love seeing the interesting lichen on the rocks. I've hiked here a few times in winter, and it's very peaceful and quiet in the forest then. The areas around the electric poles can be interesting haha but they don't last too long! A spot to keep coming back to for sure!
We entered Seven Falls by parking along Saybrook Road. The picnic are was right there alongside the river and waterfalls. The picnic area had some litter, and though the falls were small, my three kids 9, 6, and 3 found them very exciting. Crossing the river led us to the trails on the other side where the great rock sculptures are. We were not bothered by the power lines or their humming, we focused on the view, the rocks, and nature. Due to time limitations, we didn't hike further back into the trees, but will come back to explore more in the future.

Great little place, lots of easy parking and good accessible water to cool your feet amongst the awesome giant boulders.
Such a cute place!!!!! You can have a cute picnic and enjoy little waterfalls. Kind of tough to park and walk down but you got this.
Took the long way from Groton to Hartford and stopped at this little gem. Totally worth it if you like taking photos of nature.
