Awful experience riding the metro. Several stations closed this weekend with a 'free replacement shuttle' except the buses did not stop at the between stations. Just kicked out at the end of the line. Workers couldn't help, though they were friendly.
The metrorail is a very convenient way to travel in and out of DC. Free parking on weekends.
Staff actions and overt racial biases led directly to children being taken home by abusers. Was assaulted trying to stop it, station manager was more interested in organizing his desk than helping me- had to beg him for the police be called my phone had been smashed. Other staff blatantly ignored the situation. Their actions, without a doubt, let adults take home children they were abusing. My contact with WMATA has been entirely unsatisfactory and have not produced any hint they took this situation seriously or put any measures to prevent such a thing from happening again.
Convenient parking, but escalator was broken.
Staff was friendly and helpful with us getting our metro passes Fun experience for our family
This is the last station of the Red line. It is above the ground and there’s a huge parking.
Trains are running frequently and are usually on-time. Great, quick transportation to DC from Maryland. Hop on the Ride-On bus to go further into Montgomery County. Fairly clean but not 100% spotless. This station is good enough.
Shady Grove is your.commuter Mecca to the Northwest of the City. From here there's a great network of local bus lines to get you further north into Northern Montgomery County. Not a lot to walk to from here but it is doable. There's also MARC trains stopping here that can get you all the way to Harper's Ferry, WV.
Last stop on the Red line. Above ground platform. Plenty of parking.
Typically station, End of the line. It does have lots of buses on one end/exit and some of them go rather than the typical wmata ETA buses. I believe there are some BWI shuttles but be very sure to check the time tables as it's not a super often thing. This was precovid when I took it. There Is some homeless presence, there is parking what seems to be a childcare place. I dont feel super safe but I dont feel scared, I walked home and such at 12AM from here and waited for Uber's and while it at times felt sketchy I've never been bothered. I've frequented this station multiple times so this is an overall review not a one time. Uber's seem to have odds wait times when you're at the bus/entrances to the train area which is really the only place to wait so be sure to make it very clear, in my experience sometimes it seemed like uber maps told them to go a strange way.
