We finally had a chance to visit this park and we loved it. I wish it were closer to where we lived because it is a true gem. The kids loved checking out the creek and all the shale. We skipped rocks and explored. What a perfect way to spend a hot summer day.
Great trails for hiking. Meadows and wooded areas, flat spots and hilly, improved trails and unimproved, all very nice. The exploration area for kids is a designated area to play in the stream and wooded area. It's well done.
My second favorite Preservation Park after Emily Traphagen Preserve family ties to the Traphagens. This is a park where you can experience nature at its fullest. The creek is very safe to walk through. The canopy of trees provided a much needed respite from the sun and heat. Plus it has a great location off of US 23. As an aside, I overheard someone tell their child that the concreations in the water weren’t real. I said that they were real and could also be found all along the Olentangy and also at Highbanks. I was taken aback that a parent would say that to there kid as if the place was like Disney World. Insert eye roll…
So glad we stopped by here today while in Delaware. The orbs are super cool and the whole place is just beautiful. Lot's of mushrooms to take pics of!
This is our favorite creek to walk. My boys love the shale rocks in particular and looking for critters. The waterfall has water for the first time since we've been coming!
Not sure how I haven’t been to this park before but what a pretty little gem. Love seeing all the shale and walking on rocks and through the creeks. Looking forward to going back and hiking one of the paths.
A small but pleasant park. Decent trails that are not too easy nor too challenging. Excellent views for the size of the park. Good amount of parking. Google maps does need to be updated. There are some paths that do not show up on the website. We briefly got lost but a bit of common sense got us back on track. Bathrooms are well maintained and have some fun artwork. Restrooms: One urinal and one stall in the mens room. Both were well maintained and clean when I went towards the end of the day. There is a water fountain outside, but the water tastes heavily chlorinated. Overall great for a small park with limited foot traffic.
Awesome park you'd never think was there since it's just off Rte 23 and all the shopping centers and housing developments. There is ample parking with around 30 spots, a visitors center with indoor restrooms. There are also picnic tables available. Be sure to read about the history to better understand the park. Went on a warm December day, can't wait to check it out during summertime.
Beautiful walk and pet friendly. They’ve done a great job keeping the paths clean. This place is a hidden gem.
This is a nice little park located just off the the US23. Park has limited parking, but trails are really good. Kids can play in the running water and explore interesting rocks all around. Have fun with the family with a quick trip to this cute hidden park.
