The Shenandoah Fire Department offers fire protection and rescue services for SouthWest Iowa.
The Shenandoah Fire Department is based in Shenandoah Iowa. The Department responds to both urban and rural fire and rescue emergencies.
Shenandoah Fire has 3 full time Drivers/ engineers which man the fire station 24/7, which improves response times and helps maintain fire apparatus to be able to perform and respond at a moment's notice.
The department is assisted on scene by 25 Volunteer Firefighter's ranging from new members who recently join to members with 30+ years of experience.
Members have also been crossed train to be able to perform basic first aid and CPR. The department is also fortunate enough to have members that are EMT's and 2 members that are Paramedics.
Shenandoah Fire also assists with mutual aid when other departments request assistance.
The Shenandoah Fire Department is fortunate enough to be equipped with 8 specialty purposed fire apparatus, ranging from a 75 Foot aerial ladder truck to utility pickups that can extinguish brush fires and assist with traffic control on motor vehicle collisions.
The Department also is active in the community with fire prevention in the schools, and has a active cadet program for Jr's and Sr's in high school.
