Description

Namaste! Welcome to Sherpa's Adventure Restaurant & Bar! Proudly serving Boulder since 2002, we offer a unique combination of authentic Nepali, Tibetan, and Indian cuisine in a family friendly atmosphere.

As the name implies, we are genuine Sherpas from the Himalaya aiming to bring a little of Nepal and Tibet to Boulder. All of our food is true to authentic family recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. We make our meals to order, including fresh breads, sauces, and desserts. Sherpa's Adventure Restaurant & Bar features an authentic, charcoal-fired Tandoor clay oven for heart-healthy, low-fat meals. You can taste the authenticity and quality in our famous Chicken Tikka Masala and homemade Tibetan dumplings, stuffed with Himalayan spices.

In addition to our delicious food, we offer a truly unique Traveler's Library & Lounge with plenty of books to help get you started planning your next adventure! Feel free to peruse the displayed Sherpa history and photos, explore our expedition, trekking, and volunteer trip booking opportunities, and look over our list of guest speakers.

We hope Sherpa's Adventure Restaurant & Bar provides all we intend it to - good food, cold beer, a little inspiration, a little education, and an escape to the Himalayas - all without leaving the shadow of the Flat Irons.

"Sherpa's Restaurant opened its doors in September of 2002 with a unique approach to the restaurant business. From our love for good Himalayan cuisine and the talents of our great chefs, our personal affinity for Himalayan culture, and our passion for the mountains, cold beer, and education - Sherpa's was born.As the name implies, there are genuine Sherpas from the Himalaya here to bring a little of Nepal and Tibet to Boulder. In addition to great food and atmosphere, we offer a "traveler's lounge" with plenty of books to help get you started planning your next or better yet, first adventure."

This place is interesting. Food was good. Options were unique. Probably would t recommend this place if you're in a hurry. Overall it was a good experience. The lamb was a bit chewy but the chicken curry was really good.Food: 4/5
This is more of a 4.5 review. The beef momo and Naan were awesome. You could smell and taste the garlic in the crispy Naan, which is fairly rare. Those two items will bring me back. However, the lamb vindaloo was somewhat watery and not really spicy at all. The lamb was very nice though. The sagg paneer also has an issue with the paneer being just OK, while the spinach really came through in a nice way in the sagg. The chicken momo were fairly tasteless. Next time different entrees, same appetizers/accompaniments.
This is one of the coolest restaurants I visited in boulder which has Indian food and beer. They have a really delicious food, you might have to wait as they have lots of guest but I say it is worth a wait. We have tea noodles and rice and after dinner we also had a drink. I would highly recommend this restaurant for Indian, Nepalis and Tibetean food.
Loved the concept and history of this place - a solid visit in Boulder, CO. Menu highlights were the noodles, paneer and saag. The veggie momos were ok, but the mojo sauce was delicious. Ask for their spicy sauce if you are into more spicy food here. I wasn’t a fan of the mango lassi and the ground flooded on account of a thunder shower we were seated outside
Good food, yak stew, noodles, chai. Chai came late and was luke warm. Otherwise, everything was yummy and generous portions, priced fairly. We sat outside, went inside for the restroom, pretty cool digs in there, lots to look at and appreciate throughout out the restaurant, very interesting for sure.Food: 4/5
Wow, food is amazing, homemade, fresh, authentic. Get the Momo's, they literally melt in your mouth. Best meal I have ever had in my entire life.Food: 5/5
Great curry, lentil soup, and the BEST naan. On the cool end of the Pearl St entertainment corridor. Easy parking, awesome food, and fun tables scattered throughout the place. Don’t miss this Boulder institution.Recommended dishesNaan and Momo Appetizer
Phenomenal meal, a little off the beaten path! Wonderful customer service, meal, and overall ambiance. Prices seemed very reasonable and food was fresh and flavorful. Come hungry, leave happy!Food: 5/5
We love Sherpa's so much .we have been consistent customers for 7 years now. This is the top choice for food and Boulder. We almost always get the same thing: Khumbu sampler - which is a great variety and is plenty for two people to share. Also chai is amazing and you get free refills! The indoor seating is nice and cozy and warm in the winter , and in the summer we love sitting in the outdoor patio.
We ate at the restaurant for lunch on the way to People's Crossing Trailhead. We ordered lamb curry which came with lentil soup creamy, not chunky lentils and rice as well as Sherpa Stew which came with naan. The lamb was tender and sauce was flavorful. The stew was tasty and had a kick if you are not used to spicy food. The naan was very good somewhat flaky and somewhat soft. My suggestion is to read the menu before going to the restaurant because you are expected to order as soon as you sit down. Specifically, we sat down, were given menus, and the waiter stayed by the table to take our orders right at that moment. We could have asked for more time, but it was a little unusual to stay by the table immediately after giving us the menus to select our choices.
