Friendly staff with efficient, competent optometrist. I went there for an eye exam, new prescriptions and new glasses. The optometrist was excellent! They accept DAVIS VISION insurance and the place is NOT listed for this particular insurance!! Carmen was infinitely patient and illuminated me on my insurance benefits and let me try a TON of glasses before I found my favorite frame for a good value. She also gave me 10% OFF on my entire purchase. Highly recommended!
I was having vision problems with my contacts. Convinced I needed a stronger prescription I made an appointment with the optometrist, Dr. Ken. Dr. Ken determined a higher prescription was unnecessary, instead I needed a new iteration of contact lens which provides more moisture to the eye. I can see clearly now. Thanks to Dr Ken, Tony, and the Shine Optique staff for making all things optical a wonderful experience.
UNBELIEVABLY GREAT service and shop!! Tony and the entire team and Shine have no problem whatsoever going above and beyond to get you in your perfect pair of frames for you. From getting pictures from warehouses to checking with reps on availability, Tony and the team are always there with positivity to make sure you are taken care of. I have no reason to go anywhere else, Shine takes the cake and their lenses are fantastic. Thank you!!
Dr Ken at Shine Optique on Bedford did a great eye exam and it is free on NYS insurance. Plus the insurance give you $100 towards new frames. Highly recommend if you need eye exam. He was the best I have ever been to… Quick and really nice Also good selection of frames! And prices not gouging— Reasonable for what it is
I’ve been to a million eyeglass stores in NYC, but I’m convinced that Shine is the very best. Perry and Tony and the other salespeople are all extremely honest and incredibly patient and helpful, and their fittings and adjustments are perfection. The lenses are always top notch in quality and I have a challenging prescription, which a lot of places can’t seem to get quite right, and their frames are awesome—they carry moderately priced brands like Brooklyn Spectacles, but it’s their niche, high-end Japanese brands like Native Sons and Boston Club that really impress. The optician is very personable and super competent, as well. So happy I found this place!
I needed to get a new eye prescription and this location was very close to my house. The receptionist was very polite and helpful, and the Doctor unfortunately I don't remember his name was very patient and helpful as well, he effectively responded to all of my questions and gave me new contacts to try it on. Definitely will be coming back again.
Great service! They were insanely knowledgable and kept me thoroughly informed throughout my purchase process!... but more important to me was that they were kind and treated me like a human. As a minority in this neighborhood, this isn't something I have the privilege of getting to take for granted. I am still getting used to being pregnant and the accompanying diminished energy and their shop was close to a mile farther than I had thought. By the time I arrived I felt ready to pass out. Despite the fact that I was looking quite my worst, and had made no indication of any intention to purchase anything, and my pregnancy was not at all visible, they urged me to sit and gave me cold water. As I have lived in this hood for 12 years and have frequently been treated much worse while dressed much better, this just meant the world to me. I am also super pumped about the sunglasses they helped me select for my husband. I was particularly impressed when they took the time to request I show pictures of him in his current glasses so they could be properly guided towards the perfect pair for him. These guys are just great. I would highly recommend.
Wonderful staff and an unmatched selection of eyewear. I came in for an eye exam and a pair of elusive Kaneko optical frames, and have since brought the rest of my frames in for updates reading x progressive lenses. Impeccable quality and service every time. Grateful to Tony and everyone at Shine.
Great place, brought broken glasses and they put a lot effort in repairing it. It worked. Also very friendly.
Initial service was great; it was the day before my birthday and I was looking for new sunglasses. I found a pair that I liked in store and was weighing these against a different pair of sunglasses that I was expecting to be delivered to my home that weekend. So I asked if they accepted returns, and my teller told me yes. Turns out I liked the pair that was delivered more so I came back to return the sunglasses and was met with a teller that told me I must be mistaken; that they don't do returns, that I didn't hear what I heard. I never would have made the purchase if that was the case, but in any event I was stuck with the bill. My issue is twofold; the initial sale was baited in deception from my point of view, and second teller turned the mistake on me rather than being useful in resolving the event. That being said, I've got a pair of brand new sunglasses if anyone fancies a deal haha.
