This store has an issue with their scanning tool that they use to scan your identification to make purchases of tobacco or alcohol. They attempted to scan my NC Driver’s License on 01SEP2022 and the unit would not work/scan and they said that since they were unable to scan, I would not be able to make a purchase. I asked to speak to a manager and an individual named Danny ? older gentleman, glasses, balding, incel type came forward. I attempted to explain my situation to him and he just stared at me and asked me if I was, “going to shut up so he can scan my ID”. Once it became apparent to him that his machine/scan tool was having an issue, he didn’t say anything to me and he removed my items from the counter and I was told to leave the store, Danny made zero attempt to explain anything to me. This is insane. I have been shopping here for 8 years, I am a 100% disabled veteran, and I am met with hostility and spoken to like that FROM A MANAGER?! Get real. This store is a joke. This “manager” interacts with the community on a daily basis, and is the face of this store rattlesnake trail. Real professional Short Stop. No wonder you are having hiring issues. Hard to believe this trend stops here. Just go to any other gas station than Short Stop. I’m convinced they won’t be around much longer within this community anyway, especially with how they treat the public. STAY AWAY
If you thought the gas pumps at the Gold Star gas station were slow, you haven't seen nothin' yet! These gas pumps are about the slowest in all of Moore County! Other than that, this is a good area to get things
