We stayed there August 29th, 2023 and it was amazing! The view, the creek running behind the rooms, and they even have a place you can sit on the side of the building right by the water! The pool is so cool, my daughter loved the cave them inside, and the pool outside was so warm! They have a 2ft section in the outdoor pool , and it made my kid so happy to be able to stand and play! We had her life jacket on, but she loved HUGE! The staff is super friendly! The only downside is the indoor swimming area is VERY loud, I'm not sure if it was because of the water fall or what, but regardless It was still really nice there. Also, the rooms are definitely outdated, but to me it kind of gave it more of a rustic theme! They have designated smoking areas, pool side and a lot of other places, and they do have a little cafe too! The Maintenace man was very sweet to me and my daughter, they have rocking chairs literally everywhere! We will definitely be staying there again when we go back next year! My daughter absolutely loved it there and so did I!! Oh another downside is there is no microwaves in the room, but there is one in the main lobby!
Fantastic place to stay. People have said the rooms are dated, but Im not there to spend time looking at the room. But the room was super clean. Great view of the creek outside sliding door was amazing. Parking is a little eh, but not terrible. Front desk staff was super friendly and helpful. The pools and hot tub were amazing as well. They have towels for the pool area. Close but not to close to the main drag. Walking possible but there are some serious steep walks there and back. But there is a trolley stop in front of the lodge. Highly recommend. Can't wait to go back. Rooms: Very clean. Nearby activities: Not far from activities. Walkability: You can but be ready for a workout. Noteworthy details: Honestly just in a perfect spot, in between any attraction you'd want to check out.
Not a bad place to stay for the money. The rooms appear a bit dated but they are renovating. The pool area and jacuzzi is nice. The staff is super friendly and always great you overall I'm happyRooms: 4/5
Overall great experience. The rooms were clean and smelled clean. The AC worked great. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There were 3 pools and the river in the back was a great bonus. Our balcony was very small, about the width of a person but they had a seating area by the river which made up for it. It could use new carpet, but to us this wasn't a con. Parking was a tight. A microwave in the room would be a good edition. We will stay again! Food & drinks: The restaurants breakfast was great!
The rooms were clean. The balcony is tiny and you could hardly open the sliding door that led to it. Not enough room for a couple chairs. And to top it off our view of the creek was skewed by a big construction site on the other side. Parking was minimal and we struggled to find a spot.
Stayed for 4 days, 24 hour amazing and nice services, the outside and inside pool were clean and felt amazing. The hot tub was a little crowed but because of how great it felt . My partner and I didn’t mind this but i know some will but they don’t have everyday room service you leave your dirty stuff outside, and get new ones from the cleaning ladies as they clean. But if you run out of towels late at night you can get some from the office. No microwave in the room we had but there’s one in the lobby. There was a new lady there she was so nice the service was the best. And free wifi Nearby activities: 20 minutes away from a hot spot in pigeon forge but also has a great shopping district and activities a 10 minute walk down the street the amount of stuff to do near by is great we walked a lot cause of traffic.
The staff was wonderful. Check in was fast and easy and everyone was so accommodating. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Within walking distance of restaurants, shops, etc. Pools, Hot Tub and Sauna was great. The food at the Cafe was very good. Definitely recommend and definitely worth the money.Rooms: 5/5
The staff at Sydney James Lodge went above and beyond for our family! When I had mistakenly booked a room that wouldn't have fit us very comfortably for the 5 days, they quickly resolved our issue by getting us into one of their gorgeous suites for no extra charge! I will be forever grateful! We plan on staying with them next summer when we come to visit the area again. They were amazing!
Stayed at this hotel for a weekend due to being in town for a basketball tournament. So this hotel was a choice of the team’s Coach, it was fine for a quick trip, I would not pay the extra money to stay on the creek side especially now because they are doing construction and it’s not a great view and our room didn’t have a balcony that was even big enough to sit a chair out on it. The bathroom is extremely small, as soon as you open the door there is no wiggle room, you are met by the toilet and the tub, so dressing in the bathroom is very tight. The rooms are very dated you do have a refrigerator but if you want to warm up food, you have to walk to the lobby area and use the community microwave. The housekeeping staff have a lot of ground to cover and I think there were only two on our side and it was extremely busy for them, so you do have to let them know if you want them to stop by your room if you see them on your floor, we just went to them got what we needed and took care of our room on our own. This hotel is close to everything, so we parked at the hotel and walked for dinner. It’s an okay hotel for a weekend but I wouldn’t want to stay there any longer than that. Nearby activities: A lot of attractions are within walking distance Food & drinks: Tons of restaurants in the area as well as stores to get snacks and drinks.
My family of three stayed in a queen jacuzzi suite for 4 days in March. The Good The staff are amazing, friendly, and willing to go out of their way to help you. The price is very competitive with nearby locations. The indoor pool is very open and well-designed. The on-site restaurant has decent food with great pricing. The Bad The rooms are extremely dated. The TV in the room had such a poor resolution that you couldn't read text even at close distances. The in-room phone was inoperative. The light switches in the room are wired oddly. It was a puzzle to get all the lights to turn on/off. The location is EXTREMELY noisy during the weekends to the point where getting sleep was very difficult. This included drunk people yelling, a van with at least 10 kids slamming the doors for hours straight, and lodgers located in the room above that sounded like they had bricks for feet. The Ugly We paid extra for a jacuzzi room, but the jacuzzi didn't even function. It was pretty much an oversized bath tub. The door to the bathroom had the veneer peeling off and was extremely sharp. We had to take steps to prevent our toddler from becoming injured by this. The toilet occasionally decides it's not going to flush. Worst of all was the rampant drug use on the property. It was impossible to walk anywhere without being overwhelmed by the smell of pot. Even worse was the broken syringe located alongside the road on the property. We will not be returning, and I caution anyone lured by the cheaper prices of this place. If you can stand the quirks, and only are looking for a one night stay, this place may work for you. If you are looking for a respectable, quiet, resort this is most definitely not for you.
