Their rosemary garlic smashfries are pretty unreal. Pair a large fry with any burger or chicken sandwich and you are good to go. It’s a unique offering that sets them apart. You still walk out paying a lot for a single patty like you do a five guys but this burger just has more to it. More flavor. More of that stuff that makes you want to order another.
TL;DR: Instead of a quick, satisfying lunch, I was treated to a slow, unsatisfying, anxiety ridden experience. My family and I were shopping in Sherwood Plaza and thought Smashburger would be a quick stop for a nice fast-casual burger and fries. We visited about 15 minutes after opening on a Saturday and it was the worst "fast" food experience I've had in a long time. First, there were two groups already seated and waiting for their food. So we were the 3rd group in the store. Our order was taken promptly and then we waited a solid 25 minutes to get our food. So much for "fast". Second, the burger itself was an incredible disappointment photo attached. I ordered the mushroom truffle burger and there was one, maybe two, mushrooms. Even worse, the burger itself was *maybe* 1/8th of a pound of meat, and was burned into a tiny little hockey puck that filled less than half the bun. The patty was so small that the swiss cheese slice was burned into swiss cheese "chips" at every corner where the cheese was larger than the burger. Third, the store was filthy. Given the restaurant had just opened for the day, I was left wondering: "does no one clean overnight?" The floor was slick, presumably from grease that had settled over time. But the bathroom took the cake. Words cannot describe the degree of nastiness I encountered here. I'm not sure when the bathroom was last cleaned, but from the log on the door photo attached, it had not been cleaned since *at least* 2:30pm the day before there are no dates on log, so it's possible it had actually been multiple days. Again, the store had just opened for the day, so I'm just assuming no one cleans after closing. Just gross. I can only hope the Natick location is an outlier, because I can't imagine this chain being in business much longer if our experience was the norm.
We walked in and it was packed. The guy taking our order was also making shakes so it took him a little to take our order. When he came over he said that there would be a 25 minute wait on our food. We decided to stay and order 2 Single Classic Smash Burgers and 1 Double Classic Smash Burger with Fries. The food was good despite everything. Would give it another shot in the future.
This location is in desperate need of help. One guy working the register, and one guy in the kitchen. Only two people working a fast food joint ?! It took me 10 minutes to even get my order in after standing there watching the register guy run around trying to get all the orders ready, make shakes ect. Then took another 15 to get my food. I almost wanted to jump in and help the guy. Great food though
I should have taken the hint when there was not a single other customer in this establishment… This was our first time ever trying Smashburger, so we placed a rather large order to try many options. I have to say the food was overall atrocious. All the sandwiches were slapped together like a mess and everything was barely lukewarm. The quality of all the meats is disgusting! The burnt ends sandwich and the brisket sandwich were both incredibly fatty. The chicken sandwich was so dry, and the bacon on top was pure fat once again. The beef burger was flavorless and burnt. The fried egg I added on top of my burger was absolutely mangled. Smashburger fries were cold and dripping grease. Had the worst stomach ache after eating a small amount. $65 wasted - would’ve been better off at McDonalds. So angry and disappointed!!!
Stopped by Smashburger as I was in the plaza and was not disappointed. I highly recommend the Smoked bacon brisket burger...double patty of course! Watching my carb intake so I didn't get fries but I definitely stole a few from my son and they were perfectly cooked! Staff was very friendly. Unfortunately it's an hour from my house but if I'm out there again I will stop by again.
The food was good but unfortunately like most places they were severely understaffed. It took 5 minutes before someone was at the register to take my order. He was very apologetic for the delay. There wasn't a clean table in the place, once again severely understaffed. The person running the register also had to run back and forth to clean a table once I sat down. I will give the place another try sometime next year. Maybe a better experience to change my rating.
