Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q

Nice atmosphere, cool building and great food. The cashier could have been friendlier, but I came for the food, so I give it a 5 star review anyway. I got the regular barbecue plate. Chopped pork, but it was mostly large chunks, more like pulled pork. So tasty though, I got a small cup of the vinegar based sauce, perfect flavor and long slender hushpuppies. Came with potatoe salad and coleslaw. Parking: Plenty of parking spots.

I flew out of Raleigh on October 12 , 2021 and I had to make one more stop at Smithfield's before I went back to Las Vegas . I make it back to the Carolinas about every 3 years to vacation and visit family and friends . I am a fan of the Fried Chicken and of course the Carolina Pulled Pork BBQ . In Vegas we have a lot of BBQ places , but most are Texas or Memphis Style . Only 2 places make a Carolina Vinegar Sauce for the Pulled Pork . Of course only one of them is any good . They make great Brisket and Hot Links in Vegas though . I first had Smithfield's in Laurinburg , North Carolina in September of 2019 and loved the Pulled Pork Sandwich . I noticed some ladies eating some delicious looking fried chicken , so I came back the next night for dinner and flipped over the fried chicken . Again , Vegas ain't got nothing on your fried chicken ! I bragged about it when I got back to work and seeing my friends and of course posted pictures on Facebook and Instagram . I went to 5 places for Pulled Pork that 2 weeks in NC and SC and yours was my favorite just a little bit above Rodney Scott's BBQ in Hemmingway . So , before I got on the plane I had a Pulled Pork Sandwich with Coleslaw on it , Hush Puppies , and Sweet Tea . It was so good and the place was clean and the employees were nice . I went to another Smithfield's in Charlotte , NC on October 5th and they were not as good and I was a little disappointed , but not here . It was spot on !

The chicken is very good, the service is also very good; but the most wonderful thing is that despite being a restaurant where all the food is fried, the place does not smell of grease and one does not come out stinky at all! That's great!!!!

Well, I don't topically give bad reviews, buy my experience here was weird. When we came to ask for our foot the cashier asked another guy to attend us because he "could not understand" probably for our Hispanic accent. That does not matter to us, and the other cashier was nice and gave us our food he is also the reason I don't put a single star. However, the food was exceptionally bad. I'm pretty sure that is not common in this place, but our meat was literally rotten. That's it. No good foot for us this time. I would probably give them another try in the future.

When I first moved to the area last year and visited Smithfields for the first time, I tried the chicken strip meal, I was impressed. It was very good. The last few times, however, the quality has seriously diminished. I had a hankering today for a chicken strip meal, but the chicken was so overcooked that it wasn't edible. I couldn't finish eating them because they were so bad. I probably won't be going back.

Deliciousness all around. Best BBQ, fried chicken and BBQ chicken in my opinion. I'll go out of my way to stop here. Plus they have the good ice! Quality food standards do not change from store to store, so no matter which SCNB you chose, the taste is the same...just devine southern goodness!Food: 5/5

I was extremely disappointed in the food we were given. My total was $65.00 & to be honest I just expected more. The bbq was bland & stringy. It needed more spice & needed to be chopped just a little more. Nothing like I've gotten in the past. The fried chicken was too bready. There was more skin & breading than actual chicken meat. I've been eating Smithfields chicken over 25 yrs now & this just wasn't what it use to be. Especially not for the money. The sides were good & the sweet tea did not disappoint.

Food was not good. Warm, but not hot. Very little flavor. Chiecken was better than the pork and sides, but all of it left us feeling gross after dinner. Just not god.

We just moved to the area and experienced Smithfield’s for the first time. It’s so yummy. We’ve had it for Sunday dinner 2 weeks in a row. Absolutely will continue to go and will recommend it highly!
