Most of the food there was very good and well presented, especially the lamb chop. I would highly recommend the Ceviche, which is like a seafood marinated in citrus. I’m no fan of seafood, but it was delicious nonetheless. I also recommend the Empanadas, the filling added with the red sauce on the outside of the Empanada was unbeatable. Another thing that was great was the interior design. Every painting and color matches the theme of the restaurant. The only reason my rating is 4 stars and not 5 is because the main dish, the seafood rice, which is just regular seafood rice, nothing special. Overall, the experience was great and I would highly recommend going.
Good sangria and tapas. We had the calamari fritas crispy hot tender small calmars and the cerviche rightly cold spicy with chips hot crispy good. Good location, warm ambiance.Food: 4/5
It was a great experience. In fact the only thing I would change is the "Pão de queijo" they serve which should be a typical Brazilian treat it was not a good ratio of the cassava flour and there could be a bit more cheese.Food: 5/5
This was my first visit to Moody Street and was looking forward to trying try the tapas at Solea. The entrance and decor at the bar is beautiful and inviting. The place was empty with exception to a couple of people seated here and there. The wait staff offered us sangria and a named two of their specials. We picked one as we looked through the menu and ordered one of the sangria's. The first impression was not impressive at all. The presentation of the special was flat, the taste was basic. Was hoping it would get better. We ordered few others octopus, carne de buey, brócoli balls, and salmon. None of the dishes made an impact on presentation or taste. They either were not fresh or overcooked. My friend returned the sangria as well. On the other hand the table next to us has at least six ladies and they seemed to be enjoying themselves so don't take my word for it since I focus solely on the taste, service and preparation. This was far from being anywhere close to a Barcelona's tapas experience.
Solea The place has a traditional and beautiful ambience. We ordered a few tapas dishes for the table and all were great with authentic flavours. We got the garlic butter shrimps, Spanish omelette, mushroom and artichoke crostini, meatballs in a creamy sauce and crispy cauliflower. Should definately try their paella. They have a lot of seating space. Overall a great place for Spanish food.
Food was incredible and even better service! Lovely gentleman. Great for large parties. I ate so much! The steak and lamb meatballs are to die for.Recommended dishesLamb Meatballs
Solea Restaurant and Tapas Bar on Moody Street has a romantic dining room, and beautiful bar for date nights and all the tapas you love including the Beef Tenderloin with chimichurri Sizzling Garlic Shrimp Meatballs in Truffle Cream Sauce Patatas Bravas And my favorite the beef empanadas ... and yes, churros. @soleawaltham #waltham
The waiter recommended some great dishes. The goat cheese with basil was amazing. Their asparagus preparation is great except that it has asparagus. We also loved the lamb, loin, and paella. At the end we were happily surprised by the bill. We thought it was going to be more. Definitely coming back.Food: 5/5
The overall atmosphere and service were outstanding. We could not ask for any better. However, the food was mediocre at best. Several of our dishes were served mild to warm, when they should have been hot. One dish had to be sent back. Overall though we enjoyed our visit.Food: 3/5
Drove to Waltham downtown to trie this Tapas place. It was crowded even on a weekday, the streets were closed and light up making the whole experience pleasant. Food here was good. Pleasantly surprised but the number of vegetarian options. All the shrimp dishes were good. Cauliflower broccoli fritters, spinach with pine nuts, and marinated olives was amazing. The chicken fires and potatoe wedges were a little disappointing. Large place, well decorated and great service!
