This place is so incredibly slow. It’s clear they don’t care about their patients or they would not double or triple book the Dr and make people wait an hour or longer for nothing. I ended up walking out. If you want to waste your day, this is the perfect place to kill time!
I give him 5 stars because I have tried so hard for years to be able to get in with him and we finally got in with him permanently over a year ago, we travel nearly 1 hour one way to see Dr.King because I have been very unlucky finding a great doctor local to me… I spent years and specialist after specialist having my stomach issues seen about and no one could ever tell me anything that I would “just have to live with it” but Dr.King got me straightened out in one visit… I was able to finally start bringing my baby down to King also after insurance change because he does not accept Medicaid which is not a bad thing after several pediatrician switches locally with her not doing well on regular baby formula she was so colicky and I was at a complete loss, exhausted, and my nerves were completely shot when we came into his office, he listened to me, he showed me how to help her gas, he was the only doctor that was okay with goats milk formula specially formulated for babies because he knew it would help her just like I did, he’s very old school and doesn’t always do things the way these new age doctors would do them and I LOVE IT! He understands that A new mama will do and try anything without putting that child’s life in danger to help her child and they will do anything to get some rest so that they can be the best they can be for that child! He gets it. While it can be difficult at times getting in with him when we are sick last minute call they still try to do what they can do for us and if we can be seen then we are seen. Most of the time we can get by with urgent care visits but there are times that the local urgent cares just don’t get it right. I’m thankful for him being such a good doctor and I hope he continues to be nothing short of successful for the rest of his career. As for the mask mandate, ain’t nothing gonna keep you from getting the Rona, if your meant to get it your gonna get it, them vaccines ain’t gonna save you and if THIS doctor can’t stand behind them then that should tell you something… it’s not negligence it’s careful practices. And I fully support his beliefs! Much love ~Jess
My husband and I love Dr. King for our one month old son! He listens to every concern and explains why to do what we need to do to fix it and never leaves me guessing. I never feel ridiculed for my concerns, even ones that are ridiculous as a first time mom, and tells me exactly what causes each of the things I’m worried about and explains how it works. He also doesn’t make us feel like a pay check. He’s very passionate about his job and it shows every time we see him! Edit; I change my mind. We had to take my son to a new doctor today because solid oaks was too far away. In one visit, they diagnosed my son with a milk allergy & eczema, WHICH I ASKED HIM ABOUT TWO WEEKS AGO. And he said it was a “baby workload rash”. What even is that?! And the milk allergy, he wouldn’t even consider it. In fact, when I was going to show him a picture of my sons rash, I went to pull my phone out of my pants waistband and he said “how are you going to show me anything when you lifted your shirt up?” He was great for awhile and now he’s just plain unprofessional. And before you send me a letter about not being my sons doctor anymore, don’t waste your ink. You’ll be receiving a fax from his new doctor tomorrow for his records. Do not waste your time with this man, he’s unprofessional. He makes up terms so he doesn’t have to do anything about the real issue at hand. Not worth the 30 minute drive. My four month old could’ve been comfortable weeks ago if I knew he had a milk allergy and eczema. Disgusting negligence and malpractice. Tell your wife that instead of discussing my tattoos with her.
Dr. King, Katie pediatric nurse practitioner, and his staff are amazing. Dr. King takes his time and listens to you. He cares. He always explains things on my level and makes sure I understand what is going on and what my options are. Dr. King is my primary and my GI doctor, as well as my son's pediatrician. He stays up-to-date on the latest medical information/treatments. He is extremely knowledgeable. He always wants to find the cause of any problem/issue and not just prescribe medications to treat symptoms without knowing the cause. Best doctor ever!
My husband and I started seeing Dr. King bc of issues we were having with our previous PCP. Best decision ever!! We absolutely LOVE him!!! We have moved our twins over to see him now and they love him. As our kids need checkups we will keep moving them to him. He is so knowledgeable, the front office staff, Katie-the nurse practitioner, his nurse, Ali the office manager all are so nice!! He is up to date with the modern meds as well as older meds, his bedside manner is amazing. He talks to you like you are human not like you are beneath him like our previous doctor did. I can't say enough good things about him!!! We him!!!
I adore Dr. King and his staff! In all my many years of seeing doctors of all kinds, I have never found a clinic that is as professional, nice, and caring as Solid Oaks. Dr. King doesn't rush the appointments, he settles in and covers everything you need, even things you haven't brought up like are you doing monthly screenings etc.. The clinic is so clean and nice too. I can't recommend him enough, he sees my entire family!
There is no reason to set an appointment because it will be ignored. Set an 11:10am appointment for my granddaughter on a Tuesday morning. The appointment was set 2 weeks in advance. We arrived at 10:55am 15 minutes early Sadly, we didn't get called back until 12:05pm, 55 minutes after our scheduled appointment. Plus, to make it worse, we didn't see the doctor herself until 12:17 pm. A full one hour and 7 minutes after our initial appointment. No apologies, no "sorry for the delays", just 'here's your granddaughters prescription and see you in June.' We'll, no they bloody hell won't see me June. All the fancy wood work and western themes in the world doesn't make up for being that far behind schedule, a mere 3 hours into a work day. If it were a one off thing I'd probably let it slide. However it happens every time I take my granddaughter to Dr. Kings little ranch set-up. The staff is fine, not overly friendly, but not rude. The doctors on staff are also fine, not rude and very knowledgeable. It's just the time management and lack of concern for it, that makes me want to go elsewhere when I have my say in the matter.
This is the way medicine is supposed to be from A to Z. I have known and respected Dr king professionally for years. Today I was able to experience him first hand as a patient. Dr King took the time to listen. He talks with you, and not at you. Dr King is a gem! Staff was all happy and personable too. Love Solid Oak! -Ali
On May 15th I took my son to Dr. Kings office for a check-up. When we got there, I discovered that his office was not following guidelines set by Governor Ivey or wearing mask to help slow the spread of Covid-19. I was upset and we canceled our appointment and left. That day I made a post on my private Facebook page concerning my disappointment and asking for recommendations for new doctors for myself and children. Only people I was friends with on there including an employee that works at Dr. King's office could see it. I did not bash him on any public forums or even give him a bad review on the internet. We were successful in finding a new doctor for our children and transferred them to Dr. Tapley who is awesome and her office is taking every precaution and actually following guidelines. I have not found a new doctor for myself or husband yet. Today, my husband had a medication that he needed to get refilled. When he called the prescription in, an employeethe same one that was friends on my Facebook account called to let my husband know that Dr. King would not refill his medication and would be sending a letter of dismissal to him over the post that I had made on social media. My husband doesn't even have a Facebook account and had nothing to do with the post I made. Dr. King has the right to dismiss us as patients but his handling of this situation has been petty. Waiting until my husband needs a medication refilled to dismiss us is childish. He is still adamently refusing to acknowledge that mask help reduce the spread of Covid-19 and told my husband they are only wearing mask now because it is "required by law". His whole handling of the pandemic has been very eye opening and disappointing
Dr.King and his Practioner Vivi are the best ever. My son has been with them since he was about six weeks old. We have driven from south Mississippi and South Carolina just to bring him here. They know exactly who he is and he loves vivi to death he always tries to get her to take him home, because she is that good with him. As soon as he sees her he runs up and gives her a hug and makes her hold him throughout the exam. She is amazing and I will never change doctors. Ive seen both Dr.King and Vivi as well and they are just as amazing with me. They listen and make sure we both get the best care ever, which is important especially when it comes to your kids and their health.
