Established in 1963, the Southeast Museum is located in the 1896 Old Town Hall listed on the National Register of Historic Places. We offer exhibits on the history of the Town of Southeast and Putnam County.
The Southeast Museum’s programs and services are made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. Public support is also provided by the Town of Southeast, Putnam County Government, membership, fundraising drives and the private sector.
The Southeast Museum celebrates the history of the town of Southeast and lower Hudson Valley by educating, collecting, preserving, and interpreting significant material artifacts and culture, to serve as a source of community appreciation and inspiration.
