I'm a native of Orlando and have been coming to this beach my whole life. This is the first time I have visited the museum. It was very informative and I enjoyed it very much. The people who volunteer there are super nice!Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
This is a nice, small history museum encompassing pre-historic times, the colonial periods, up to modern times. A section is dedicated to surfing.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$6–10
This was for sure on of my top museums experiences, and I have been to hundreds of museums. They have done such a good job to transport the visitors to the early origins, hardships, failures and successes of the USA.
We vist every couple months and always learn something new. Great staff.
Searching for Mullet on the Beach book and found it at Museum. Staff were helpful and friendly. While I did not experience the displays, the selection of historical books for purchase made my day. Also, a nice Datil pepper selection of sauces and even seeds should you try and grow your own.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$6–10
Was more than I expected. The staff of volunteers were so friendly and knowledgeable. Had no idea of the rich history of NSB. A must. My 8 yr old son enjoyed it as well.
Fun little museum. It’s not huge but packs in lots of info and exhibits. They have a scavenger hunt for the kids which my kids enjoyed. Nice way to spend an hour.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!!! I had time to kill before my flight so I walked in on 3/29/2023. Ladies at front charged me $8. All the locals told me it should've been free and they ripped me off. The museum has a few pbs videos and posters on history that look like an elementary student put together. I started looking at the lackluster posters and than the ladies came and told me they have to close early due to some unforeseen event that came up and I had to leave right than. They offered me a free ticket to return but I told them I am flying out that day. They put their hands and up in the air as if to say "not my problem." I walked out after 5mins of museum with no refund or apology.
This is a small history museum about New Smyrna Beach. It is free. Employees are cheerful and friendly. They have numerous old photographs of people that contributed to the early development of the area. They have old artifacts that were found from early settlers. They have a few short video presentations too. They have small wooden, handmade model ships with tiny hand painted little people that accompany the ships. They have some old clothing from early settlers too. Then they have a newer room with surfing equipment and history. Visiting this museum is a pleasant way to spend some time.
A well curated local museum showcasing some old Florida history of New Smyrna Beach. Super friendly staff full of information.
