Can't really rate the spa itself as I was unable to make my appointment, just be aware they charge full price for no-shows/last-minute cancellations they tell you this when you book. What I felt was odd was that I was guilted for my last-minute cancellation 5min before start of appointment & charged in full, even though I explained the situation had been out of my hands, was very apologetic and said upfront that I was totally comfortable with them cancelling and charging me in full. I would have been fine with being either chastised OR charged in full for the appointment I missed, but getting both felt a bit much. They also never answer their phone, which is frustrating - everything is booked via text and thus felt a little unprofessional given the prices. EDIT: In response to the owner's reply to me below, this would make complete sense were it not for the fact that you were paid in full for the entire time of the session. You didn't lose any sales, and it is disingenuous to answer this as if you had not been paid for your time. As mentioned in the review, I have no issue at all with the need to charge full price for no-shows; I do take issue with being rude about it.
Treated my wife to a spa day here in Brookline while on vacation. AMAZING, she was thoroughly pleased and got an incredible facial, followed by a massage and even some medical laser services. Highly recommended, great environment, friendly staff and fair prices.
I cannot say enough great things about my colonic experience at Southwest. Levina is an excellent colon therapist, so knowledgeable and extremely comforting! The environment was incredibly clean and welcoming. I would recommend to anyone looking to find a solid colonic experience in the Boston area.
I see a lot of reviews about trouble contacting and getting responses ? I don’t know who runs the messenger but they have been beyond a amazing asked a million questions and answered all within hours so accommodating and offers so many amazing services love this place happy to bring my business here for a long time to come
Addendum to my original review - in response to their reply: I am truly grateful I trusted my instincts and intuition and protected myself from this so-called business. I have come to know much more, upon doing more research, reading other concerning reviews, and my personal interactions with Maria G. She only extended the walk-in option AFTER I posted my review. Not a coincidence. I did not reply to that e-mail, therefore to have them say I declined is simply not true. A majority of businesses may require a credit card upon making the reservation, but would not process it until after the services rendered, or would use it if a cancellation is within a short window. This business clearly does not trust their customers and that is a huge red flag. Others who may have been a no-show very likely had a valid reason. Again, please proceed with caution. Their small team is severely lacking in business common sense and customer service acumen, not to mention their subpar skills, as shared by numerous clients. They are not savvy business leaders, but a poorly run team that needs basic training in respect and wellness. I am happy to take my business elsewhere scheduled already and I urge others to do the same. I was interested in two particular spa treatments and as a first-time customer, I was looking forward to meeting Levina. I was told she is off until the end of March. I was then open to scheduling with someone else Manuela. However, since I had never been there before, I did not feel comfortable with having everything pre-paid. Most businesses do not demand this of their clients. When I told Maria G. that I would rather pay after receiving the spa treatments, with a generous tip, she showed no flexibility and even less warmth. Upon looking deeper into reviews and feedback for this place, I am glad I did not ultimately come here, as business practices seem extremely shady, unprofessional, and honestly questionable. They also never pick up the phone and have an apparent reputation for being impolite to clients and falling short of their expectations. Please use caution.
Went for an iconic footbath. There was no explanation to remove metal jewelry, bath was cold, the employee couldn't speak English, and the other team members were very cold and short. It felt like my friend and I were an inconvenience. Will never go back.
I was nervous going to this place but once I was inside, I was at peace once I entered. It was very calming with an atmosphere for relaxation. My technician was knowledgeable and friendly. I was embarrassed to expose myself for the wax services I had chosen. The tech helped me feel so at ease that I felt like I could trust her and that meant everything to me. I highly recommend. Only wish she had a secretary to help her. Ill definitely be back for routine treatments.
