Excellent pool- clean, well-maintained water and showers/changing space. The staff is very friendly.
I’ve gone with my family almost every Sunday before the COVID-19 pandemic started, and it’s the best pool I’ve been to. Staff are very helpful, the facility is clean, and everyone in the pool plays fair.
The staff at the reception area are soooo rood, especially one new women there, hates to ask the questions, has no patience at all and can’t wait when you’ll done. They have 4-5 great swimming trainers, but you have to be very lucky to have them, because they also have the trainers, they don’t know how to teach swim and the manager doesn’t care about. Also 8-9 kids in one class. So, don’t waist your time and money there.
Love Southwest Pool! We swim there in the winter when Colman Pool is closed for the season. It's always a comfortable 80 degrees and has different sessions for all ages and abilities and we're never seen it crowded. And what a bargain! It works out to $6.00 a session for me and only $4.00 each for my 'senior' husband and disabled son, including the weight room, sauna and hot tub. No down side here!
Very good for laps. Although it is an indoor pool, the air is not bad smelling. Women's locker room is clean, with some private changing areas. Pool is heated. The workout room is small but it seems to have the basic equipment. I needed a n elliptical machine and they had one. Everything seemed to work well.
For a city-run pool I think it serves the purpose. All sorts of programs for kids and adults. It's always very busy. Admission fees are reasonable. Seattle City employees seem to relish displaying a dour, snarky attitude when dealing with the public. This pool's employees seem no different in that regard. That said, the swimming instructors are super. Really great.
It's very nice. The dry sauna and the hot tub could both be a little hotter but they are the only ones in a public facility in Seattle I think and they were included with the pool fee. They also offer "just a shower" but it's almost the same price. Anyway it's a very low key relaxing place to go.
As far as pools go, this one is just fine. It's convenient for most of West Seattle, it's not crowded for lap swim, and the water is warm. Might be too warm for some people's taste but it sure made a morning swim enjoyable with 30° weather outside. Lockers all lock, everyone is friendly, and they actually keep the locker room doors locked for the morning swims. All of this being said, please dont go here for morning swim...I like having a lane to myself.
This post is about the Great Teamwork that the Seattle Fire Department is doing to implement the COVID testing and the Pfizer and Moderna vaccinations. It's a well organized, staffed and friendly environment. Thank you for your service,
