Love the new spacious location. Still has a great selection of arcade games and pinball. Amazing nerd chic ambience. They now offer a full bar in addition to all of their great beers.
Recently hit up Spacebar Arcade. Let me tell you, it was next level. Sipped on this killer cocktail "Don't Panic" – it was amazing. The whole place oozes this sick cyberpunk/Tron aesthetic– From the neon lights everywhere, the bartender rocking a space suit, to ambient screens flashing sci-fi stuff, the details were on point. I felt like I'd stepped into a scene from Nueromancer or Cyberpunk 2077. The arcade games? Iconic. OGs like Tapper, Defender, Frogger, Sunset Riders, Tetris, console games like Mario Kart, some pinball action, and a crowd favorite, Nidhogg II. Everyone I saw was having a blast. Spacebar Arcade isn't just a spot, it's THE spot. Got a tee from their vending machine. Check out this retro-futuristic paradise ASAP!
Spacebar has been one of my favorite hang out spots and bar for years. They have a great vibe think, alternate dimension interstellar space lounge and have a welcoming atmosphere. Their new location has a full bar their house drinks are rad, Princess Peach is the best and stage with room for live music! Bartenders and the door guys are both spunky and hilarious Catch Tavis serving up shots in a dress, as Han Solo, or a marooned space man on any given Friday. Not to mention the amazing selection of pinball, vintage, and modern gaming options they offer. I can't recommend this place enough for your Saturday hang spot, or must visit Boise experience!
Wheelchair access requires having someone go down and get the bouncer to unlock the elevator for you. You could try calling the bar too. I think they should have a sign posted on the elevator or something. "Call XYZ if you need this unlocked"... Luckily my colleague could go downstairs to get it opened up. Great service and atmosphere though. edit: love the response to my review! I think a sign posted will be great.
Incredibly rude pipsqueak bartender. Walked in to take a look with our baby strapped to my wife. He informed us of their 21 and up policy which is completely reasonable.... However his delivery was very rude. I just wanted to take a brief look around and he said "on your way out". All before even having a moment to react. It's a shame because we may have come back later tonight with our friends when we have childcare, but not now. Id recommend getting a new bartender instead of this dude.
Excellent retro games. The mix of nostalgia and adult beverages is a huge draw for Gen Xers. The adult themed claw game is super popular.
The bartenders are friendly as a tree. They really hate there jobs. Games are fun not a huge selection but fun. There is a speakeasy bar on level 2 use the telephone.Food: 1/5
Cool vibe with a mellow live music this particular night. Love to be able to play old school video games. Would make for a fun date night.Atmosphere: 5/5
