While transferring my friend with an upper respiratory infection to another room they left him unattended with none of his monitoring machines or breathing apparatus, including his oxygen, for 5-10 minutes. We told staff repeatedly he could not breathe as he has a breathing tube not connected at this point. Eventually the tech stocking the supplies in his new room pressed the call button and about 7 nurses came rushing into the room, some of which we had already told he couldn’t breathe, and rushed us out and closed the door. The staff have a blatant disregard for the wellbeing of those under their care and will try their best to do as little as possible. I don’t recommend this hospital for anything, unless you’re looking for someone to sue
In 2022 I went to the ER because of a hemorrhage. I received an excellent service at Blodgett. Both Dr. Bishop and Dr. Dilan-Szanto worked diligently to get tests ordered. Thanks for their work I discovered I had Stage III cancer. Blodgett has a very professional team, including doctors, nurses, and others.
My emergency room doctor, nurses, and techs on the evening of 9/2/23, along with the medical staff on the 4G Digestive Disease Unit 9/3/23 and 9/4/23, are top-notch. For something so painful and uncomfortable, they helped make it a little easier to get through this medical problem. A surgery has been scheduled, and I'll be back on 4G for a few days following the surgery. I'm comforted knowing that I'll be seeing such caring staff after this procedure takes place. Sometimes, a thank you just doesn't seem to be enough.
There certainly are a lot more negative reviews than positive. I thought that Blodgett was a better choice than Butterworth, but I think I might have been wrong. Although Butterworth is terrible! So here I am with Blodgett having a biopsy to find the cancer. I guess they do not care how long a patient must wait. Now after seeing the cancer doctor in his office a few days after leaving the hospital, I find out that the pathologist read the test wrong and perhaps even the test was the wrong one. So guess what....I now get to have another biopsy! Even had a kidney doctor tell me that I had a cyst on my kidney and to wait a year before going any further to see if it was cancer. WELL IT IS.......NOW AT A YEAR LATER. So what does the doctor do, he cancels surgery to remove the cyst and cancer. Says "oh if you need surgery later we can reschedule it again". The cancer doctor said YES YOU NEEDED THAT........guess the kidney doctor was a chicken and afraid of doing any surgery. Just plain tired of doctors that really do not care! I went back this past weekend due to pain. After they said I could leave, it took over 2 hours to bring my discharge papers......the nurse did not even read me the discharge papers as most do so that they are certain you understand.
I had outpatient surgery here and was VERY pleased with the care I received from Amber, Alayna, Ruth, Diane, and Elli. All were extremely nice, understanding, and helped ease any nervousness I had. The doctors and anesthesia team were awesome. The registration staff left a little to be desired they were very snappy and somewhat rude. Overall, a pretty good experience. If I had to have surgery again, I would come back.
I had back surgery 4/13 and had a wonderful experience. My nurse Jessica was fantastic, great caring personality and sense of humor ; I was made comfortable by everybody including the lab professional and all the other support staff. Good clear instructions and the ice pack they sent me home with is better than mine! Nice area for my husband to wait, reclining chairs, lockers and vending machines. I don’t want to have surgery again but if I did I would go back here!
Not a great experience, and if Butterworth tries to send me here again from their ER, I will go to Metro instead. Had parainfluenza two weeks ago, came back after one week, was told by ER I probably should not have left so soon. Some of the respiratory staff is horrible. I am supposed to get breathing treatments every four hours, but they decided to just skip my last one last night. This is the same staff member who skipped me for twelve hours the last time I was here. A lot of good staff, especially nurses and techs, but my bad experiences have outweighed that. Will never return here, and would not recommend it to anyone. Horrible place.
Beware of this place. Staff are not on the up & up with their patients. Changed their name to hide their corruption & poor/mistreatment of patients. To them u are only a piece of meat for surgeons to butcher. I wouldn't even take my dog here. Big hospital but big isn't always better. Smaller hospitals treat patients better & are more concerned about your care then raking in money.
Not a good visit. The nurse never opened up my chart to see what pain meds i was taking I was in a major car accident. They just sent me home prednisone. Nothing for pain. I had to ask for my pain medication. The nurse said no. The doctor said yes. I'm in severe pain i shouldn't have to ask for meds to take home .. I could barley walk she didn't ask if i needed a wheelchair.
Terrible experience, definitely avoid this lab if you're nervous about needles. We went to the lab for some blood work. The phlebotomist had no empathy towards my fiance who has anxiety around needles. She made rude remarks and had to stick multiple times, left a decent bruise and pain. She is either new or unfit for the job since she created a hostile environment that caused even more anxiety.
