My husband and I went in for ammunition. It's a great store. Large for size however I'm not impressed by the selection of the ammunition only because Everytime we've been there for our ammunition they don't seem to carry the kind we need. Unfortunately I have found it easier and cheaper to purchase on line at other stores. Other than that I would recommend this store for most of your outdoor fun.
Went in with full intentions of buying a new 10mm and after standing at the gun counter for more than 10 minutes decided to leave after Roy decided to ignore me. Also this was at 10 a.m. in the morning and not one customer besides my self was at the gun counter. Asked him if they had the specific 10mm in stock and he told me to look online. I left and went to Al's sporting goods down the street. Bad customer service.
They were quick to help me find the bullets I needed for my 30-30. Great staff and great service. My dad and I have been going here for years and have never had any complaints.
They had a rifle I was interested in buying. While looking at the rifle I wanted to buy, they mentioned that they bought used firearms and that I would get more value for a trade in then if I sold outright. I went home and brought back a rifle that I hardly used as a trade. It was in like new condition, pristine, no dings or scratches. Less then 100 rounds through it. I even brought it in the original box. I was optimistic as they list the same exact rifle for $600 new. Boy was I wrong. They offered me $260 trade value for it. It got worse when I questioned why so little trade value for my rifle when they sell new for $600. They told me they would only be able to sell my "used" rifle for $375. So they low balled me on my trade, then wanted to make $115 of of it. I would not recommend anyone to trade in a firearm with this store. In fact, I don't plan on buying the rifle I was looking at from them. I will find it somewhere else. I will not buy here again or recommend them to anyone after this experience. It was worse then buying a used car. I would hate to see what they would have offered for value if I wasn't looking to trade. Update 7/30/23 I called the customer service number above on 7/27/23. The customer service representative I talked to was very nice, but all he could do was document the issue that I had. He took my email and phone number so that the manager of the local store could contact me. As of today, no contact from the local store. I took the advice of one of the other reviews and went to Cabelas. They offered me $100 more for my trade in and the rifle I wanted to buy was $40 less at Cabelas. Thanks Sportsmans for being jerks, you saved me $140 by convincing me to shop elsewhere.
Lots of outdoor stuff from a metal coffee pot, guns, camouflage to salt water taffy. We spent a hour just looking. Friendly staff available to help and answer ?'s.
Terrible experience working with the firearm department. Been to this store twice with 2 bad experiences in two different departments. Low balled me on trade ins and we're pretty rude overall. Cabela's literally paid twice the amount for the trade ins and I had a great experience Nampa Sportsmans is great so skip this one and go there or Cabela's for your purchases.
I’m getting frustrated with this sportsmen warehouse. I asked for regular deer tag, they gave me white tail. I just look at it when I got home. It’s wasting time and frustration. Last time I purchased hunting license they just sold me the 2 years hunting license without asking. Got frustrated twice, No more sportsmen warehouse for me.
Awesome selection of everything to play outside; great supporter of the outdoors.. I wish they had more ammunition, but that's the situation in America right now .. service was excellent. I can't wait to go back!
They have a good boot selection, but you need an employee to go in the back room to get the boots you want to see. There isn't always someone there to help though. I wanted this1 pair of boots badly. They were very expensive. I'm glad there wasn't anyone there, because i would have got them. :p
It was way different. There are tons of changes in the overall feel and presentation of the store. We saw many employees. All talked with each other, but no one said hello or can I help i observed others shopping having the same experience. I interrupted two employees to ask a question. The guy walked off, and the girl was friendly but not really able to help. I was looking for some clothes for younger girls. They had everything mixed together and really very, very few options for kids and clothing or anyone under a small size. That was disappointing. I needed a kids' sizes 8-10 to 10-12, and they had nothing. When I asked if they had a kids size clothing, she told me everything was all kinda mixed together. She pointed to a couple of racks and told me I could check there. They had nothing, not much under medium sizes. They had nothing really, in small, to extra small sizes. I looked at tons of racks, and everything was medium to above. There was so much inventory in every section of the store, in the way, ready to be put on the shelf. However, no one was stocking the areas, and it just all looked parked there.. It looked like it may have been a stocking day... and it was fairly cluttered and hard to get around in every section of the store. Rows were blocked, and stuff that needed to be placed on shelves was bulked together in every section of the store. The atmosphere and layout are more like steril than previous store layout... it is totally different. I have always loved the store and felt like it was unique and set up nice. The new checkout line setup is not desirable. it's set up for crowds but odd. That change alone feels no longer personal. Overall, in my opinion, the changes to the store are negative: from the set up, the employees' behaniors, and the store overall. It completely changed my view of the store. Products are still good and products are amazing but it doesnt feel unique and personal anymore. I know its always been a big chain store, but previously, it felt like a small owner, small town, very friendly, and welcoming, I used to enjoy the experience even if i just went into browse. That's gone now, and the changes look purposeful.
