Two trips to the ER & an ICU stay over the past week and everyone we encountered was great! Check in, security, triage, ER Doctors/staff & ICU Doctors/staff were all friendly, professional & thorough. We were very satisfied with the level of care received in Redmond. Thank you so much for not adding to our distress!
While on vacation with my family, I had to go to the closest ER. I was in the small town of Culver Oregon and Redmond St. Charles was the closest ER that was open 24 hours. When we first got there, there wasn't that many people there and they said it shouldn't be long for me to be seen. It took 5 hours for a doctor to even look at my chart to agree and order an ultrasound for my leg. I had a possible blood clot The charge nurse was letting others go ahead of me, which I understand most ERs tend to those in the most need, but I had already been waiting for hours and hours with my husband and our wild two year old. It was beyond frustrating. They finally let me call back to get the ultrasound, 5 hours later. The ultrasound nurse was super nice and was the saving grace of my visit. I was at their mercy because we were 500 miles away from home and had no else where to go. So, if you have hours to kill-and don't feel like they think your injury or emergency is important, this is the place for you.
Watch out for their billing, it is way out of line. They bill insurance for more than what it should be, get paid and then they want to come after you for more. More to the story, I have been told the reason you have so much turnover with doctors leaving is in part due to the high charges. We are still a small town and yet St. Charlies will charge 20,000 or more for things that are much cheaper in other areas. UPDATE: I was just hit with a bill that the insurance paid and than the hospital took the amount billed and showed what the insurance paid, then totaled the amounts together and are now billing me. this is getting way out of hand. More Updates: They have a customer support team but you are not allowed to talk with them or even email them. This is not acceptable, if you are going to bill me I better be able to go over the bill with that department and not go through other to pass on information, that passed on information has fallen through the cracks many times. Today I was told they will pass the provided information but will not call the insurance to go over the bill as the insurance has requested. Stressed out!!!
I had a day surgery procedure here on March 9th and, while I didn't want to have surgery, the people there really made it a good experience. Everyone from the person at the front desk to the person that wheeled me out to my car were pleasant and caring. When the weather turned bad they changed their plan for how I'd pick up my prescriptions to minimize the driving we did in the storm - that was very thoughtful of them. Thank you.
Went here with my girlfriend after a car accident and were each taken in separately after each other and being told people would be back any minute. After waiting 1 hour to be called to the back. We then Multiple times waited 30-45 minutes for a check in, or to give us water, I personally waited 45 minutes for dismissal papers told it would be a few minutes after I had to go ask if they forgot to give it to me.
So extremely slow. Waiting HOURS! to be seen. Either they need more employees, a better system or what. I got here in the morning and it's close to late afternoon, people coming in and out who got here after me already gettng seen, while I'm still waiting to be seen and treated for my pain.
I've never been here but as an RN with 25 years experience can I say what is the expectations of people? Physicians do a variety of tests to RULE OUT diagnoses. In this era of malpractice suits, docs must perform a battery of tests to diagnose accurately. It irritates me when I read BS comments about 'muscle tears' and people who truly have minimal knowledge thinks you do an MRI first? To begin with...insurances typically won't pay if you don't do routine x-rays first. Additionally it was A STRAIN injury. Omg stay home, apply ice and take advil.
I went in because I was feeling so tired and not myself, I had been to urgent care for them to tell me that they thought I had allergies, it was not I ended up having a ruptured eardrum, was put on antibiotics for 10 days by my primary went in for a recheck and she was still like I'm not sure why your tired and why your throat hurts but didn't offer any testing just a referral to ear nose and throat, when I woke up this morning I couldn't stay awake and my head hurt for days, when I went to the ER the front receptionist was very kind and I was able to go right back, then dr Cook came in and listened to all the issues I was having and ran a bunch of test, I ended up having mono I'm just thankful to know why i felt the way I did and now I am able to get rest and know what I need to get better.
My kid has either a bad stomach flu or food poisoning according to copa it's a bug of some sort. She's only 2 and has a 102 fever with nonstop vomiting. We waited for 2 hours after being triaged and I asked the lady how much longer it would take and she said they have people coming in on ambulances so they come first. I watched 5 people walk out after being discharged. After 2 hours of my baby screaming and crying we decided to go somewhere else. Update: We went back after going to summit urgent care because their lab closes at 5 so we went back to the ER and it was much quicker and the staff was good and did all they could to help us and our baby girl. There is a gastroenteritis virus going around so all she can take is Zofran and Tylenol for now. Thank you to all the staff who helped our baby. We greatly appreciate it
