I loved this program, wish my son could have stayed on it, until he was 10 years old. Wonderful staff too.
WIC PROGRAM REVIEW: I've participated in this program with both of my children and have had a wonderful experience both times. Breastfeeding support is in abundance. Lactation consultants are knowledgeable and understanding, pumps are available if you need one and so are most supplies if you already have one. There is sometimes a wait for call backs to speak with a specialist, but their pretty good about returning your calls the same day. I would definitely recommend the program and the staff at this location to any moms in need.
I called here to schedule STI testing and from the moment I started speaking to a woman she had an attitude with me. She was questioning me about my insurance, about having my friend also wanting to schedule an appointment, and just straight up had an attitude. She literally told me “it just wasn’t going to work,” for me to get tested. What if I was a r*pe victim who needed emergency testing and that was how I was treated? The services the health department offer are essential to citizens and the care and kindness put into these services are just as essential. This lady was everything but kind and compassionate. I called to report the woman to her supervisor “Cathy” and after explaining in detail what had occurred, she just hung up on me. I tried calling back to further report these incidents and now I can’t even get anyone to answer the phone. This place is an absolute joke and just plain disgusting for how they treat their clients. Why is this acceptable? PLEASE, WASHTENAW COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT LET ME KNOW.
Everyone was super friendly. My initial call was acknowledged and taken care of in a speedy manner. I dropped in a little early because of miscalculation on my part arrived 30 minutes early and I only had a wait-time of fifteen minutes or so. The doctor who administered the vaccines was kind and obviously skilled in what she does; shots didn't hurt at all. They give you pamphlets to inform you of cautions & symptoms & basic info of the shots you receive, as well as a record of vaccines you got in the past. Receptionists were lovely. sadly didn't catch any names Only regret I have is that I assumed this was going to be a long wait, so I picked up a book from their book box. It was called "Racing in the Rain," and I had to leave it just when it was getting good. Off to amazon kindle now.
Went for a covid booster and every person we encountered was kind and friendly. It was also the least painful injection I've had in my life - I didn't even know they had done it! Thanks for this great experience.
I would like to say thank you so much to Kelly Stupple for all here help. She is a hard worker, organized and respectful. She knows what she’s doing. answering all the questions and replying as fast as she can. She represents the government department 100%. we need more people like her working under the government name because they are serving people in need. well done
If I could give 0 stars I would. My worker is B. Volsan and she is rude and a horrible worker. I called to get an explanation on why my food assistance and Medicaid has been denied when I sent in all my information and I received a letter saying I didn't and she couldn't give me an explanation besides what it said on the letter. When I tried explaining that I have a confirmation number from everything I faxed she said "I won't tolerate this" and HUNG UP ON ME!!! I proceeded to call back 10 times and each time she either ignored my phone call, answered than told me to not call her anymore then wouldn't give me her supervisors number. VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE SHE DOES NOT DESERVE A JOB!!! she denied a 5 month pregnant woman from Medicaid after sending proof if income and pregnancy!!!
I've had nothing but bad things happen to me since I started trying to get a bridge card. First out of nowhere my benefits got cut down to $16/month. Uhh how is that supposed to help anybody? Then denied 3 months later with no explanation given. Tried to get it back months later to never get any paperwork in the mail until a month later when I get the denial letter. After losing my job I tried to get them again. My worker scheduled a phone appointment then forgot about it. Then the interview asked me the same exact questions that were on the application so a complete waste of time. Then I got declined for not turning in proofs, even though everything that was asked for was turned in. To top everything off, the staff are all very rude every time I go there. And nobody ever answers their phone, or calls you back. This is getting out of hand how hard it is to get some assistance.
I am so grateful for their expertise. They helped me select a health plan when I moved here, and now are helping me figure out Medicare and Medicaid for my father. They know it all and work to put their knowledge to work for us.
