Station Park

A ginormous park with over 12 fields, a playground and other amenities well-maintained by Sparta's Park Maintenance. I found this park by chance after visiting the abandoned, turned Sparta Train Station Museum. I drove around the corner and noticed the three parking lot areas and folks walking; which is a plus because I'm always looking for new areas to walk. I am a train lover and have been since a child, so in exploring the park, I walked unmarked areas and found a yellow and red trail that led to what is the old Sparta line. At times, maintenance is done on the tracks and the tracks are well-maintained with no garbage strewn along them. I would have loved to walk along them, but there were posting signs and I believe there is a shooting range nearby as well. It is a great place for family or just a morning/ afternoon stroll. Check it out some time -- you won't be disappointed!

A lovely regional park perfect for all sports including walking & bike riding. Pleasant wooded trail too. The pleasant environment is sightly marred by ubiquitous "Field Closed" signs and constant discharge issuing from an adjacent firearms academy.

Great park with nice trails and fields. Could use more bathrooms around the park. Always clean and mowed.

This park is well managed. There is a small playground. Plenty of fields for baseball, soccer, la crosse an football. Only negative, it could use more parking. Playground: Shadied Restrooms: Are porta sans

I love station Park, it's a great place to go study, relax, read, or play sports. There's always something to do and everything is highly accessible. Playground: There are two playgrounds, one by the main entrance and the other halfway into the park, both of which are kid-friendly and spacious. Restrooms: There are porta potties all around the park, however, there is also a restroom facility housed over by the soccer fields and volleyball courts, all of which are well maintained. Dog-friendliness: Park signs indicate that there are no dogs allowed, however, many individuals still bring their pets for walks without any trouble. Picnic area: There is a gazebo over by the pond at the front of station park that has several picnic benches, perfect for a small gathering.

Grew up 80s 90s playing many sports here. Fishing the pond,playing on the playground and exploring the woods. It's great to see that all these years later the park is stall taken such great care of and improved upon as needed. Always clean,green and beautiful kept.

Another one of my all-time favorites when I was mayor I initiated this program and it has succeeded beyond my greatest expectations so many activities all age groups all activities great variety just a wonderful place to be again in a beautiful setting it's a crowning Jewel in Sparta

This park is beautiful and has a lot to offer. I have not personally used all its amenities, but just knowing they are so close to me makes me appreciate the park. It is clean and have plenty of areas to sit and observe a game or just relax. I have seen that there is a biking path, 2 beach volleyball courts, multiple soccer and baseball fields, a stream running through, walking path, and a gazebo next to a pond.

Station park is a wonderful place to enjoy a nice walk, or jog, to cast a line in the pond for some pan fish, or a nice bass, and there's a stream for trout fishing. There are soccer fields, baseball fields, and two relatively new volleyball pits. You can picnic at the pavilion, or in various area's, set up with tables and benches. Check it out, you won't be disappointed!

Beautiful and quiet, clean. Ample walking, and seating throughout the park.
