About Me:
I am currently a personal trainer, wellness trainer, and fitness instructor at the YMCA in Apple Creek and have been personal training for a couple years now. Helping others is a passion of mine and I love to answer questions and share things that I learn in order to help others reach their fitness goals. I have been involved with athletics my entire life and am also coaching high school baseball this year which is another passion of mine.
Education:
Graduated from Kimberly High School in 2007 and from UW-Stevens Point in 2012. I have a bachelor's in health promotion and wellness with minors in strength and conditioning and psychology. I am also pursuing an associates degree in occupational therapy with a certificate in gerontology with intentions of getting my masters in OT later.
Certifications:
CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach through the National Strength and Condition Association), CPR/First Aid certified through the American Heart Association
Training Style:
I have always believed in full body workouts for most of the population. Unless you are advanced in resistance training you should be trying to work out the entire body every time. Also it is important to add a variety to your life. Just like food, your body needs a wide variety of exercise to reach it full potential. Anaerobic and aerobic exercise, stretching, high intensity, low intensity, isolation, compound, power, strength, endurance, you name it, doing different things will bring better results.
Interests:
Athletics, weight lifting, cycling, sprinting, playing guitar, cooking, exploring the outdoors, reading health and science material
I created this page so I can interact with my clients and friends who have questions or would like to learn new ways to improve upon themselves and become a stronger version of themselves whether it be physically, mentally, or overall as a human being. If I can't answer a question I will be sure to do my research on it and get to you as soon as possible. This is a great opportunity for me to help you and for you to challenge me!
