SEC is an organization representing the Cockrell School of Engineering student body on campus and in the community.
The voting body consists of the elected Officer Group, selected Members-At-Large, Society Representatives from admitted student engineering organizations (Member Societies), an elected Senate Representative to the University of Texas at Austin Senate of College Councils, and Student Government Representatives from the University of Texas at Austin Student Government.
Participate
All undergraduate engineering students retain membership as Associate Members within the Student Engineering Council and are encouraged to attend general meetings and other SEC events and activities presented in our calendar.
If you are interested in serving in a greater capacity, consider applying to be a committee chair or Member-At-Large. Also, if you are a freshman, you should become involved in the Freshman Engineering Committee!
-To unite engineering students and their organizations on campus
-To serve as the students' representative within the Cockrell School of Engineering
-To provide resources to students for their initiatives that effect positive change
-To offer committee and leadership experience to its members
