Wonderful place to come visit. So much history. The ingenuity of this is incredible. Only three men ran this whole machine.
Very cool place. Unfortunately we arrived after closing, but we were still able to walk around and walk inside the dredge. Very interesting place, great place for families and a relatively easy walk around. Quite an interesting operation. We missed going into the store and a bit of panning for gold. Maybe next time.
Follow the trail back to the creek, beautiful view. Cleanest water I’ve ever seen
Neat mining dredge that you can explore. They have guided tours on weekends and train rides. There is a visitor center/gift shop that has history of the area and gold mining.
Cool spot to check out for some old mining history. Be sure to check it out when it’s open for the season. The town of sumpter is very beautiful.
We loved learning all about dredging and walking the lovely trails through the railings. We also got to see the inside decorated as a haunted house!
What a nice surprise to find this state park. Interesting history, worth the time to walk through the park.
Great weekend spot! Very well taken care of. Very interesting to visit.
This is an awesome piece of history. The super cool remnant of a gold rush. Like a giant dinosaur chewing through the earth, collecting gold and spitting out rocks. The ecological damage this thing caused is staggering!
This place is awesome. Amazing story of went on in Sumpter and the staff was very friendly and informative!
