The people and location are great. It’s a nice, clean park and everyone is friendly. Treed, with nice shade and centrally located to get everywhere in an hour- or just enjoy country living. If you are a light sleeper, know that the dump trucks start at 4:45am - so get that white noise generator out! Or take out your hearing aids and you’ll be fine!
Great off the interstate camping. Some sites are dirt, some are gravel and some are concrete. We had a dirt site with 30/50amp service, water and sewer. No picnic tables or at site amenities. But this was just a one night stay. Some campers stay here for months in the winter and you can tell. No tv stations either. Photos are of the HUGE SWAMP on the back side of the campground.
They're pretty avcomendating; no RV age requirements, or personal age minumums. When I needes 120v 15amp household power and my assigned site only had 30amp the office moved me without a complaint. My experience is good. Except for the last four days of my stay when a old guy in a class A decided to keep his bright A.F. porch lights on all night and i had to deal with what felt like a spot light making the inside of my camper daylight. Other than that, good place to stay if you can't find a hipcamp location. 7/10.
Nice campsites and friendly people They could use more activity’s! I suggested a camp fire in their pit with tons of wood however my extensive pleading didn’t make a bit of difference. It’s cold and we are all stuck inside our RVs! Isn’t that what camping is all about????The whole place was in agreement and they didn’t budge
It was a good experience, they run lots of activities, unfortunately I was busy so I wasn't able to attend. One word of caution, this is not a co-op, so if you are expecting something like Park Sierra in Coarsegold,CA you will be disappointed, not to say anything negative about Sumter Oaks, as RV parks go it is better than most I have been to, and very reasonably priced.
This was a well managed campground. Not real fancy but when you arrive it gives you a vibe of going to camp with the brown wooden buildings and beautiful huge trees. Everyone was warm, friendly and wanted to be sure you didn't need anything. Water tasted great also electric and sewer worked with no problems. They had activities and we had great neighbors. It was so relaxing we would definitely stay again. Several great bike trails all around within 15 miles of camp.
Well maintained RV park. Our site was extremely spacious and level. Hookups were a little far to reach so make sure you have plenty of everything. Showers are dated but had good water pressure. Great neighbors, quiet area made for an awesome stay.
This was my first exposure to Escapee’s. Hook ups were easy to figure out, simple rules, both staff and visitors were very kind. Bathrooms were great to have but were a bit smelly, hence the loss of a star, but they are always looking for volunteers, so I’m sure they just need a little more help. Otherwise its great! Might have a flea infestation but hey, its the out doors, can’t expect it to be bug free. All of nature is important!
Prices were cheap and the people were nice. No pool And you had to pay for wifi.
Nicely maintained park and the sites sere very roomy. Some areas are very wooded. The first site I was assigned literally had no exit path without driving through the neighboring site. QUIET TIME: 10:00 PM to 7:30AM… what a joke! Hell the trash truck drove through camp banging dumpsters at 0620.
