Sunrise Toastmasters meets on Thursdays at 7:15 in the morning where Lafayette, Pleasant Hill, and Walnut Creek, Ca all come together. The Walnut Creek Sunrise Toastmasters Club began in 1984 at Fubar's Comedy Club in Pleasant Hill. As a result, humor is an important, and welcome, facet of club proceedimgs. However, do not worry about having to be funny when you come. You can enjoy the humor, without feeling the pressure to be humorous yourself. Our meeting format includes a variety of assignments designed to provide members with frequent opportunities to develop speaking skills, evaluate the efforts of others, and conduct meetings, in a highly supportiive environment. In addition, our members are encouraged to take on leadership roles in the club, as well as in higher levels of the Toastmasters organization. Our club's small size means that members get frequent opportunities to practice their speaking skills, and ample opportunities to participate on our leadership team, if they choose to.
