Apparently the staff closes when ever they feel like and they just stop answering the phones when they don't feel like making food any more. They advertise open till 9 but my wife tried calling at 7:30 and no one would answer. She stopped in to place an order at 7:45 and they would not take an order because they were closing in 5 minutes.
Love this store. Good food, great staff, reasonable prices. Surprising amount of inventory for a minimart. Only complaint would be the hours are tough to predict since covid, and they close at 3pm on sundays. I understand the reasons for both though and don't downvote them a star for either. Food: try their Sunset Steak sub, its the best steak sub in the area. Don't sleep on their pizza either...it's easily amongst the best in the lake region.
Absolutely rude staff, website and all signs outside said close at 9pm showed up with my family after a baseball game at 7:45 pm to order a couple Italian sandwiches. The lady making the sandwiches yelled to the woman that took our order at the register that they close in 10minutes and that she would never of taken our order and that she would have no problem saying no even if we were there in the store. I am a local and I will never give this place my business ever again and will tell everyone I know not to either. Absolutely terrible customer service.
Went in last week in am. All staff masked plexi glass up and big sign on door. Have not been at night recently so can't speak to night staff. Customers tend not to be, but I dont belive stores can enforce. Food has always been decent and steak sandwiches a highlight. Been going almost 20 years.
Ordered a cheese steak sub and it was delicious. Unfortunately, I will not be back in the near future. Why? Neither the employees nor the other customers were wearing masks. The employees were behind a plastic shield although. Still not taking any chances. Too bad.
The Italians are amazing. It's a great place for a quick lunch with friendly people even though they are busy. I don't blame them because once you try their food once you will definitely be back!
Down at the Sunset Grill Down at the Sunset Grill I think of the Don Henley song when I see This store sign. Steak and cheese sandwich outstanding. They take pride in their store with all the culinary awards they have won on display. My sandwich was big enough to share.
Very friendly and a unique selection. They keep their Whoopie Pies in the freezer. That tells you all you need to know. I hope they turn on that beautiful neon sign for our next trip to the lake.
IF you can get someone to answer the phone big if you won’t get to order. Waited on hold now 3 times for 10+ minutes. The food is good for c-store food but ordering ahead of time forget it!
Whoever wrote really good pizza probably owns the store. $17 for a 14" with just pepper and onion, covered in tomato paste and half melted provolone. That's $5 over priced. It was not good pizza. Get gas and keep driving if you're hungry.
