Horrible hospital. I feel so sorry for the veterans who have to go here. The staff only cares about the staff. Veterans are a after thought. They are still wearing masks for God sake. What is this China. Don't go here free is worth it. Wish I could give this place 0 stars.
I'd give it zero stars but that's not an option. They send me a reminder via text on Thursday to remind me of my appointment on Friday. I take off work for this appointment right before Christmas when money is already tight and drive the 40 minutes there to find out they cancelled my appointment and didn't even have the DECENCY to call or inform me of this cancellation. Half the medical staff doesn't even know what they're doing it seems. Living up to good old VA legends. They did it again, I call in for a medical reason the nurse scheduled an appointment and then they send me a text cancelling my appointment the day of the appointment. No priority for patients health here. I have a massive lump that has gone unchecked and they're like we'll get to it when we get to it. Thanks for the concern doc!
Can not say enough good things about the staff or the treatment. I understand that if I have a appointment for say 1100 and I do not get called until 1130, something could have taken longer with the person having the apointment before me. Of course, I go with the flow, so I do not get upset with the little things.
This is a good VA Medical Center. I've nothing but praise for all the staff medical administrative, and various others who work behind the scenes yet are crucial to the function of the facility and especially environmental services/housekeeping. I also commend the hospital for a welcoming multi-faith Chapel. When you are at the VA you might consider stopping in and take a moment for the tending of the spirit.
This place is ridiculous! From operator to nurses is terrible. They don't know how to connect. The VA does not care about your loved ones. They stick them in a room and leave them. Syracuse is terrible
Went to the VA being a combat veteran and was turned away since I was told I don’t have official business at this facility even after telling the staff I would like to see someone to discuss my benefits. Was told it’s Covid policy if you don’t have an appointment you can’t come in. Glad I served my country and this building and employee is only there because of guys like me.
Would leave 0 stars if possible. I came I to the ER after I was told by them previously if my condition worsened to come back as soon as I could. I can barely stand and am shaking so bad I can barely hold anything and they can't get a good blood pressure. I was yelled at for shaking by the initial check in nurse and then thrown back in the waiting room. People who came into the Er 15 plus minutes after me get preferential treatment even tho I was told to come back here. Moral of the story. If you aren't old they don't care
I just had spinal surgery the day before yesterday. The nurses, meal preparation personnel, cooks, doctors and therapists were awesome. While I was in my room. The nurses responded to all patients. The doctors came to check on me. The therapist were great and provided everything I needed for my recovery. The food was very good. All the staff made sure everyone was comfortable and that they had everything they needed. Thank you all so much. As a Veteran, I wanted to thank you all for your services.
Always prompt and efficient service and care from health care providers at SYRVAMC. Would like to see NOVAVAX vaccine available to me at SYRVAMC
Today I had a vasectomy and never have I been to a place that treated so magnificently that I actually felt at ease and had no worries they were super polite and very helpful never seen a place so ready and on top of thing a wonderful experience and most definitely would recommend getting anything done there
