The WGST minor is very flexible! There are only 2 required courses: 1 intro course at the 2000 level and the capstone course, WGST 4399. The other 4 courses come from an interdisciplinary list of courses.

The Women’s and Gender Studies minor uses an interdisciplinary approach to the study of gender in culture and society and the achievements of women in the arts, literature, the sciences, and in other human endeavors. Attention is given to the historical, cross-cultural, and multicultural aspects of gender in the experiences of women and men. The WGST minor prepares TAMIU students to become future professionals, scholars, activists, and artists who engage critically with women’s, gender, and sexuality issues in multicultural and transnational contexts.
