I enjoyed my entire dining experience at Tannin Wine Bar & Kitchen. From my entrance to my exit I was treated well, greeted, engaged, and served with excellence. I was giving the proper amount attention. I met a colleague for dinner and conversation. We dined on Crispy Shrimp, Roasted Amish Chicken, Pan Roasted Salmon, Housemade banana ice cream, and a Fudge Stuffed Peanut Butter Cookie. The food was fabulous. My chicken was juicy and filled with The cappuccino was bold and creamy! I had a spirited mocktail aptly named Queen of Heart. It certainly had a royal kick to it. What a bright, open, congenial atmosphere. The restaurant was impressively clean and well polished. The seating was comfortable and spacious! The decor was contemporary with a fun vibrant theme.
Love this place. First time to visit was March 2019. Have been here once a year since then. Food is great…wine options amazing: sadly only one Old World Madeira tonight Boston. First time I came I had a flight of five!Recommended dishesAmish Chicken, Charcuterie Board, Pan Roasted Salmon
Tonight we had a random date night and came here for the first time. Emma was our server and she was so sweet and personal. She had a lot of knowledge of the menu and was so helpful what to choose when I told her I was pregnant. We will definitely be back!Food: 5/5
Appetizers are very nice. Pretty good ambiance—Perhaps the private dining room is the nicest spot. Servers are very polite but for some reason they dressed like maintenance workers e.g. overalls. Parking: There are a limited number of parking spots to the side of the wine bar.
Service and drinks were pretty good. Food was good aswell. Short ribs was tasty but I'm sure it was chuck roast. Other than that this place has an amazing wine list and a nice vibeFood: 4/5
Cool place with a lot of good ones. Wait staff seemed pretty knowledgeable about the wines that they had on. We had the summer salad and it was amazing. You can add salmon to the salad. Wines are pretty overpriced for the exact same bottle you can buy locally at the store.Food: 4/5
It’s always a treat every time I come here. The wine list, service, food, and vibe are all amazing. A lot of people skip dessert, but you should definitely try the peanut butter cookie here!Food: 5/5
Getting straight to the point, A good dinner was found. Oh My Gawd- wow. Yes. Absolutely, positively yes. This was exactly what my sweet soul was seeking. Superb Casual Elegence! The Food: I had the olive platter, crab dip and Salmon Basil Pesto Risotto dinner. And one dry cider. The Crab dip has delicious with this almost nuttiness to it; Well balanced- not to crabby. It almost reminded me of really good New England clam chowder. It’s the Mahomes Crab Dip. Cheese and olive platter- so simple yet with just the right few added herbs and you have this deliciousness with an added fun slice of pickled cabbage, celery and carrots in there that really just elevated their olive shareable dish. Interlude: The music was jammin- Sweet contemporary smooth jazz and just the cool kind of fancy music There’s a couple TV’s in the bar area but one was off and the other had a fun classic black and white stage show which, idk, just added a playful note in making it relaxed and inviting. The dry cider : was soft, definitely had the grounded notes but with a peppy tart finish. The Salmon Dinner Wow. Omg wow. The pesto risotto business is fortune top tier culinary art and flavor. I couldn’t stop eating it! Mmmm! There was sun dried tomato as a trim or layer, I’m not quite sure how they plated it so well but as someone who actually enjoys eating healthy, I appreciated the freshness of the food, the crunch of fresh veggies, the aliveness of it, and oof… I don’t even really know what I just ate but it was perfection. Absolutely everything I A: read off the menu, B: was described and sold C: perfectly delivered, presentation and service! Excellent excellenté.. Yes!!! And to think this place is local and been here they say 15 years- what? How have I never been here? It wasn’t cheap- many excellent things are- But it was well worth the satisfaction and experience! This is a restaurant that represents Kansas City well. Well well. Great job Tannin- the Chefs, the staff, my bartender Michael had flippy hair which went well with whatever strong arm shake these Bartendar’s have to do nowadays with those martini shakers. But he responded well to my many neediness and guided me thru a truly outstanding experience. The teamwork here was apparent and a smooth well-oiled machine. Or so it looked. Thank you! Thank you commenters and thank you Tannins! I will absolutely be back. 5 Effin Stars.
Probably our best meal in KC, great food was enhanced by tremendous service from wait staff and sommelier. Our group of 6 chose the prix fixe menu which had three options for appetizer, salad, entree and dessert, so we covered everything. You must do the wine pairing, available at full and half pours, which explored a range of countries and grapes, perfectly matched to each dish. The sommelier was a highlight, so knowledgeable and generous with information. We were able to attend a performance at Kaufman Center and return for our final dessert pairing, which was very accommodating. Desserts were OK, but everything else was exceptional. We stayed for after dinner pours from their wide selection of ports, sherries and dessert wines. Great evening at Tannin!
My husband took me here for a late Valentine’s Day dinner. The food and wine were fantastic and the restaurant was darling. A tad pricey but nice for a date night occasionally. I had the Amish chicken and it was delicious.Recommended dishesAmish Chicken
