It's not too big but there are interesting things to see. Love that there is a family day once a month, a free event that is super fun for the small ones... Girl scouts were visiting and astronomy and crafty things and all loads of fun and exiting things to do for the little ones. Check the event calendar to be able to join. Thank you organisers and volunteers for this lovely time.
It was an amazing museum to walk through and see history if trains as well as their rotation history display. Baseball was the theme when we went. The model train display was fantastic and the interactive area was fun too.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
We enjoyed so much our visit to this museum! There is so much to see and learn about trains and their history here in Texas. They have old trains outside and a kids area for them to play. Highly recommend to visit this museum if you visit Temple, Tx.

I picked my father up at the Amtrack station and we toured the museum and grounds on the 22 of December. It was very nice.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$1–5
I liked how the main building had different things to see including some of what you see below, model trains. Then there was the other building that was solely model trains. It was impressive to see. All the work, all the details, that go into the terrain and so forth. Those in the building solely of model trains you could tell really enjoyed talking about them. That made it an even better visit. There's also a gift shop I stopped in and got a keychain along with some postcards. A lot of various things to choose from.
Neat little place. Child friendly with a little park outside and old train cars.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$1–5
Best train station and museum in Temple. Friendly helpful attendants. easy access.
Had the pleasure of being at the museum of a few Family Day’s and temporary exhibit openings, it’s very family friendly! It’s super interesting and has a lot of history not only about the railroad but, various traveling exhibitions every other month!
An interesting look at railroad history. Several historical pieces of equipment that you can touch. Train layouts for all ages. An excellent view of the BNSF engine terminal. Also a small but nice gift shop. Currently they have a Vietnam War exhibit, Little Joe y La Familia room, and Scott & White display. Definetly worth a stop.
