Tess' Kitchen is a detestation! We are located in the heart of Historic Downtown Grass Valley. Not only do we have three floors of home goods, treats and kitchen supplies, we also host cooking classes and chefs tables. Tess’ Kitchen Store has been voted “Best Kitchen Store in Nevada County” by the readers of The Union newspaper each of the past thirteen years (2004-2017).

Owner is extremely rude and aggressive. Prices are about 20 percent higher than sur la table in Roseville, which is in the fountains shopping center next to Whole Foods and Ruth’s Chris steakhouse… one of the most expensive shopping centers around.
Never shopping here again. I was planning to purchase a very nice kitchen knife set and it was marked on sale. The gentlemen that helped me was very nice and offered to hold the item while I finished shopping, he offered to remove/obscure the price tags as this was going to be a gift. When I returned to purchase the knifes they rang up as full retail price even though it was marked on sale. What I assume to be the manager offered to look up the price and found it to be full price even though both myself and the employee confirmed that there was a sale tag on it previously. She did not offer any solution to this problem unfortunately. I will not recommend this store to anyone and recommend you take your shopping elsewhere with better management.
This is a great store - we always buy the bulk of our Christmas presents here, but couldn’t this year because about 50% of the staff and customers were not wearing masks and we have someone in the family with a very compromised immune system. It’s too bad, because I’d prefer to shop local and support them.
I stopped into Tess' to pick up a little hostess gift yesterday...none of the employees were wearing a mask, despite the county's ordinance, nor were most of the customers in the store. I saw a few things that would make good Christmas gifts, but I will stay out of that store until Covid is over and it is safe to enter. SMH.
Very friendly customer service very helpful. Little pricey for my pocket but very nice products high quality. And they've got just about everything if not everything and more her what you would need in a kitchen
I always enjoy walking thru this store. It carries beautiful and quality items at all price points. The long time employees remember you and are always helpful.
Tess' Kitchen Store is amazing, not only do they have a huge selection right in downtown Grass Valley, but the staff are friendly and helpful. I stopped in looking for holiday gift ideas and walked away with a lot of great ideas.
Great local store. They always have what we are looking for or can get it. Price comparable with online but you get to touch and feel before you buy.
The staff is always helpful and knowledgeable of products. I consider Tess's a staple in my culinary world.
This is a beautiful space with top of the line kitchen goods. I especially like their selection of Les Creuset pots and pans. Great!
