Texas Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery offers full-scope oral and maxillofacial surgery services to the Dallas metropolitan area. Dr. Jim Bates founded the practice in 1987 following his extensive training. He obtained a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree with honors from The University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, and a Medical Doctor (M.D.) degree with honors from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Dr. Bates completed a four-year accredited residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, as well as an additional year of surgical training at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Jim Bates is the President of Texas Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, P.A. Dr. Bates is certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and is licensed by the Texas State Board of Dental Examiners and the Texas Medical Board. In addition, he holds a Level IV Anesthesia Certificate from the dental board and is registered for Office-Based Anesthesia by the medical board.
