The Barbeque Pit

I was hoping more from the Barbeque Pit. Service was with a smile and the seating area was clean. Ordered pork plate with w sides that comes with roll or cornbread. The cornbread was the star on my plate with the bbq baked beans followed by the pulled pork and finally the cold store bought mac and cheese. The pulled pork had no smoked flavoring which was disappointing but was okay. No fatty pieces anywhere in sight which is surprising. The cornbread helped me push my beans and pork onto my fork and made me smile. Tea is super sweet so a half and half is recommended. That's it.

We were travelling through Portland and hadn't planned to stop here, but did. The service was great and the food was even better! We both had pork plates with sides. Everything was wonderful ! When we are in Portland again, we will be back!Food: 5/5

We always order by phone and use the drive thru to pick up. We have tried their ribs and pulled pork both are very good. My favorite is the Mac n cheese one of the best I have had.Food: 5/5

Good lawd, it was delicious. I got the trash can mainly because the name amuses me, a side of mac n cheese, and a half sweet, half unsweet tea. The service was amazing, and the food was even better. I WILL be back.

Disappointed. Ordered a pound of ham… picturing a sliced off the bone strip of smoked ham… nope. Just several slices of processed ham they literally reheated in the microwave. Awful. Don’t order the mac and cheese… it’s just flavorless elbow pasta. So disappointed.Food: 1/5

The best thing about the place was the decorations. I’ve never eaten then before tonight and yes it will be the last. This is a photo of a small Mac and cheese that’s not even home made.. ribs were like rubber. The sauce is water down and sweet.. didn’t get a choice in flavor. This isn’t a barbecue place.. it’s a fast food place.Food: 3/5

Very nice Barbeque Chicken and Pork sandwiches in a rustic environment. Prices are very reasonable. Will go again for some Tennessee Barbeque.Food: 5/5

Every time we go here.. we get BBQ nachos.. they are always awesome fresh hot and amazing.. and their Sweet Tea is another level.. I get the Pulled Pork Nachos and my baby gets the Chicken..Food: 5/5

Always good and the Sweet Tea is great! I added the white cheese and barbecue sauce that they sell to decorate my meal when I got home. And every bite was delicious.

Definitely a hole in the wall gem that focuses more on making delicious food than anything else. I got the pork plate. The shredded pork was moist and had a good flavor. Their table sauce is sweet, a bit peppery, and has a wonderfully deep flavor I don't usually expect from a sweet sauce. They have a very unique coleslaw, a bit vinegary? Definitely worth trying. The max and cheese is creamy and cheesy with no added flavors so you can fix it up just how you like. There were a couple flies when I was there, and the dining room is clean but could use a deep clean. That's the only reason it's not 5 stars from me.
