Home of the Allman Brothers Band from 1970-1973, the Big House is now home to the largest collection of ABB memorabilia in the world.
If you are headed down I-75 to Florida or up I-75 northbound, be sure to plan a stop at The Big House - located just blocks from the interstate at the Hardeman-Forsyth exit in Macon! You'll see instruments, sheet music, personal photographs, clothes and other belongings once held by members of the originators of the 1970's new sound dubbed "Southern Rock." A walk through the house includes the instrument room where the band practiced, Duane Allman's bedroom, Berry & Candace Oakley's "casbah" and the kitchen where Ramblin Man was written. When the band sang Please Call Home, they were talking about The Big House. Come see it for yourself and relive the music, the vibe and the love shared by Allman Brothers Band fans worldwide.
