I was so impressed! This place is beautiful! The history and the art is really good and so original. I love all of the crafts and art work. Harriet Tubman craft is so amazing. I loved that entire room. Walking through the place was an amazing experience. The Tubman Museum in Macon, Georgia is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in African American history and culture. Named in honor of the legendary abolitionist and activist Harriet Tubman, the museum offers a comprehensive and thought-provoking look at the experiences and contributions of African Americans throughout history. One of the standout features of the Tubman Museum is its collection of exhibits, which cover a wide range of topics related to African American history and culture. From the African origins of slavery to the Civil Rights Movement and beyond, the museum offers a nuanced and complex view of the ways in which African Americans have shaped American society. Through interactive displays, multimedia exhibits, and personal artifacts, visitors can gain a deeper understanding of the struggles, triumphs, and ongoing contributions of African Americans to American culture and history. From the stirring music of the gospel and blues to the inspiring words of trailblazing leaders like Martin Luther King Jr., the Tubman Museum offers a rich and immersive experience that is both educational and inspiring. The museum's architecture is also noteworthy, with a stunning design that reflects the traditions and heritage of African American culture. From the soaring, sculptural elements of the building's exterior to the intricate detailing of the interior spaces, the Tubman Museum is a work of art in its own right. Overall, the Tubman Museum is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in African American history and culture. Its powerful exhibits, engaging programming, and striking architecture make it a standout museum in the South and a national treasure. So if you're in Macon, Georgia, be sure to add the Tubman Museum to your list of must-visit destinations.
Our visit to the museum was an amazing experience. We learned of Artists that were from Macon, Georgia. We all learned so much history about Harriet Tubman and others from her era. We also were in awe to see that Tyler Perry had his own room filled with his memorabilia and lifetime accomplishments. All three 3 of us said the trip was worthwhile and we would definitely return again to spend more time to read and learn more of the history of Harriet and others that were there in the museum. I think everyone should visit there, to have the joyous experiences and memories as well that we captured. The staff was very helpful and explained everything that we had questions about regarding the museum.
Conni and I had a great day at the Tubman Museum!! The staff was incredible!! Explained everything that was on exhibit, and informed us of other places to go while spending time in downtown Macon. Highly recommend this Museum!! So moving, and inspirational...

This was my first time visiting the museum and I truly enjoyed it. The tour guide, sorry I can’t remember his name, was professional and informative. I will certainly visit again and bring family members with me.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYesPrice for adult entry$16–20
Much worth the visit. Provocative photos of real and cruel scenes during the slavery period. Viewer discretion advise. "From Africa to America" gallery exhibit, by Wilfred Stroud, is also worthy the visit. Ms. Harriet Tubman was an extraordinarily strong woman.Wait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot surePrice for adult entry$6–10

Great museum for an overview of black history including present day people of importance. The wall of inventions was really neat to see. Glad we visited! I think an area to hear music would be a great addition as they mention musical artists, athletes, and other famous people in history.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
