Waltham Public Library is a classic New England library. The selection of books is great, the architecture is beautiful, there’s lot of little nooks and desks to study at. It’s busy but nearly silent inside. The staff is helpful and polite. There’s a few floors. The book selection was fantastic.
I was unsure if I would be able to access the library's resources since I haven't finished the residency switch process from CT to MA, but the staff were very understanding of my situation and still gave me a library card, which I greatly appreciate! It's a very beautiful library with an extensive collection of books, digital resources, and other educational materials. The environment was conducive to the type of quiet study I need, which was also very nice and can't be said about many other libraries unfortunately. Highly recommend!
Been going as long as I've been able to read 15 ish years, lovely place. Great staff. The teen area specifically is really well staffed and has a great comic book/graphic novel/manga collection.
This library has incorrect hours online and rarely has books that we are looking for. This library frequently has very loud children/teenagers and it smells like mold throughout. Newton public library and other closer libraries have much more of a book selection and are cleaner.
Great library! Good selection of physical and digital books, streaming media, etc. Even had a “library of things” like gardening tools that can be checked out!
Great library.! Their online collections is second to none. Great movie collection as well. I'd recommend student to apply as a member if you live in Waltham. I can't thank enough to Waltham Public Library.
Wonderful children's space. Lots of books and activities and wonderful staff.
My second favorite library after Newton Free Library. Newton is more appealing to the eyes due to the building's structure, parking, and interior setup. But this library has everything from books to resources and services. Great place to get some work done, or just for casual reading. The atmosphere is encompassing and makes everyone feel welcome. Staff is normally friendly, never rude, sometimes they don't initiate communication which is probably the main difference you might notice between these two libraries. I only mention it because whenever I go somewhere I like to be greeted by the employees, it tells me they enjoy their job and are available to assist me. Overall a pretty great place!
